How likely is every NFL stadium to host WrestleMania? An investigation

With the announcements of WrestleManias 37, 38, and 39, some users were critical of WWE selecting the same venues every year. Every WrestleMania since 23, with the exception of three in Orlando (two at the Citrus Bowl/Camping World Stadium and one at the Performance Center due to COVID-19), has been held at an NFL stadium. As something of an NFL stadium expert, I decided to examine each NFL stadium's likelihood of hosting a future WrestleMania. Please note that some stadiums are located just outside of the city limits listed, but I listed the major city most associated with it (so for instance, while AT&T Stadium is technically in Arlington, it hosts the Dallas Cowboys, so I listed Arlington.) I'm also giving WWE a significant benefit of the doubt and assuming they'd be interested in hosting a Mania outside of their usual go-tos.

(Writing Competition) The Cross meet the Bear

Marcus looked around the antechamber where he sat, waiting for an audience with the Celestial Emperor, the Divine Flower of Perfect Balance, Elton Yudkow IV. The Apostolic Legation had numbered twenty men when it had left New Rome: five clergymen, five monks, a detachment of six Palatine Guards, three manservants, and a doctor philosophus specialising in eastern languages out of Kansas. Their path had taken them across the continent. First, down the Mississippi, where the good doctor had fallen in a bar fight in New Orleans; across the Gulf, where no less than six of their number had been taken by an outbreak of consumption aboard the merchant ship that had been chartered to take them to Corpus Christi. A galley had sailed them up the Rio Grande to El Paso, where the group joined a trading caravan across the Sonoran Desert to Tijuana. Nomad raids felled the legation’s armed men; dysentery on the trail, coupled with the harshest heat the men had ever felt, took four more. The final leg of the journey, a voyage from the Baja kingdom to the Bay, then up the Sacramento river, had seemed leisurely in comparison, until wild-haired men flying a raven above their ships had attacked their vessel, killing half of its passengers and taking what little valuables they possessed.
The deepest blow, however, had been the death of Cardinal Lester of the shaking sickness that he had been nursing for years, but which had become hopelessly debilitating during the journey. Marcus had been archdeacon under Lester for years, until the burden of leading the Apostolica Legatia partem orientalem ultraque montem had been given to the Cardinal, and Marcus in turn elevated to the episcopacy to assist the Cardinal in his task. He still remembered the papery feel of the Cardinal’s withered hand, as his dying master lay in the ship’s captain’s bed. Marcus had taken the man’s ring of office, his seal, and the papal bull which had established their mission’s divinely ordained purpose. The extraordinary circumstances demanded that Marcus take lead of the Legation, Lester had said, for the flock of the Lamb cried out for a shepherd. And so, the burden had passed to him. Secundum successionem apostolicam, according to Apostolic Succession, Lester had said. Marcus felt more like Simon of Cyrene, tasked with carrying Christ’s Cross by simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. A spiritually rewarding burden, no doubt, but a heavy one.
The Legation had dwindled to just two by the time they had reached Sacramento. Their last serving man had been stabbed by a whore less than an hour after they had landed in the city, and one of the two remaining monks fell afoul of a street trader who took his abysmal Valleyan to be a mockery deserving of a wooden skewer through his neck. Only Marcus and a slight, young monk named Jonah remained. Marcus did not know him well, but from the sparse conversations they had had about personal matters - neither was given to idle talk - he knew that Jonah had grown up, much like him, in the alleys of New Rome, and had been adopted into the Church at a young age, albeit as a monastic brother. And so they sat, the two of them, in the carved redwood majesty of the antechamber to the Imperial Audience Chamber of the Imperial Palace in Sacramento. After arriving at the gates of the Palace, Marcus had struggled to explain his purpose to guards with long, braided hair, wearing seashell necklaces. He had shown them his ring; he had shown them his seal; he had unfolded the delicate vellum of the papal bull, pointed to the clear, black ink, which read “SIT LAUS, EPISCOPUS, SERVUS SERVORUM DEI”, demonstrating it to be an authentic document of the Holy See, naming the document’s bearer as a representative of the Vicar of Christ on Earth - it was clear that it meant nothing to the bemused men. Jonah, more of a student of languages than Marcus had previously known, had briefly explained their purpose in guttural, halting Valleyan. Half an hour later, a tall, thin man, in scarlet robes, with long nails and hair, met them at the gates, and, wordlessly, led them into the palace. After an hour more of waiting, a similarly dressed, but more resplendent, man led them to another antechamber, and so it continued. It had been five hours before the two had been led to the antechamber which, they were assured, was the final room before their audience. And so they waited.
Marcus was perturbed by their long progress through the increasingly large rooms of the Imperial Palace. Granted, they were the first emissaries that the Holy See had sent for over a decade, but diplomatic relations had been maintained, theoretically, until the death of the previous Legate, Monsignor Aloysius, not two summers hence. News of the death of the Monsignor had been the stimulus for the dispatch of their Legation in the first place. Marcus had, among other duties, managed the Cardinal’s correspondence, which brought him to the papal chancery almost every day. He had been in the writing-office when the clerks had finally deciphered the document which carried news of Aloysius’ death; a strange letter, folded into a small, sealed rectangle, which had been carried by a lone monk on a pilgrimage from a remote monastery in the Rockies. Unfolded, the letter was illegible; written in an indecipherable, swirling script, on a waxy material that none of the clerks recognised. Assisted by the now-late doctor of languages, it turned out to be a bill for the funeral expenses of one Monsignor Aloysius, as well as a rather considerable record of the debts and ‘living expenses’ the Monsignor had amassed as a guest of the imperial court. The pilgrim-monk had been sent back to his monastery with a response from the Holy Father, notifying the Imperial Court that another Legation would be sent forthwith, for sake of the souls of the peoples of the West. That had been a year ago; their journey had taken nine months. Marcus could not see how the letter announcing their arrival, therefore, could have been lost, unless the monk who carried it had died on the road.
The light chime of bells broke Marcus out of his reverie, as some foul-smelling perfume filled the air of the antechamber. He turned to Jonah, who was looking at Marcus in askance, and spoke to him in the vulgar, degenerate Latin which was the tongue of the common folk who lived in the shadow of New Rome.
“This may be it, Brother Jonah,’ Marcus said under his breath. “Do not speak unless I indicate for you to do so, or you are directly spoken to.” Jonah nodded. Marcus looked forward, at the door to the audience chamber. It was huge, painted in a dazzling array of colours, carved in the shape of two great, serpentine beasts in combat with one another. “We are in uncharted territory in this place”.
The doors swung open at the same time, arcing outwards from the chamber in a smooth motion. Two guards took their positions on either side of the door, their shiny scale armour and seashell necklaces making for a strange contrast with the bright reds and yellows of their backdrop. A red-robed man, bald, this time, appeared from inside the chamber and beckoned them in with his bejewelled, spindly hands. Marcus and Jonah both stood, and walked inside the chamber.
The hall was huge. Splashes of colour played across the hard, tiled floor, and pillars made out of some kind of brilliant, green stone rose upwards, then disappeared into shadow. Armed guards stood at the walls, and in the corners, Marcus could see huddles of red-robed men talking to one another below their breath. Torches - during their wait, the sun had gone down - cast a strange light throughout the room, with flashes of gold and silver hinting at the lavishness of the decoration. At the other end of the hall sat a large, carven throne of redwood, with arms that sprouted into bear heads, and disproportionately tall back. It reminded Marcus of the Papal Throne in New Rome. It was also empty. A smaller, still ornate, chair stood to one side; and next to that, a slender man in bright green robes, covered in jewellery. He turned to Marcus as they approached, but said nothing. A pregnant silence fell over the hall. Finally, the green man spoke in what, to Marcus’ ears, sounded like the heavily accented tongue of the Midwest.
“It is customary to bow when in the presence of the Ursine Throne”.
Out of the corner of his eye, Marcus saw Jonah wince. Clearly, the ‘Ursine Throne’ was some kind of idol. Diplomatic pleasantries notwithstanding, neither of them wanted to validate the superstition of pagans. Marcus met eyes with the green man, paused, then bowed to him.
“Of course, my apologies. I am delighted to meet your acquaintance, my lord-” Marcus began, but the green man cut him off.
“I am no lord. I am but a humble servant of His Celestial Majesty, and I am one with His will. We have no lords in this land. We are distinguished only by the varying degrees by which we all correspond to, and may serve, His Divine Pleasure.” Marcus did not know how to respond, nor did he understand what the green man was talking about. He considered his words carefully as he spoke.
“My name is Marcus. I have been appointed as the bishop of Monterey by His Holiness, Pope Praised-Be, and lately as the Apostolic Legate to the parts of the East beyond the Mountains, by word of my predecessor, Cardinal Lester of Platte”. He paused. The green man seemed unimpressed. Gesturing to Jonah, he continued, “this is my man, Brother Jonah of the Abbey of Mary Teresa in New Rome. We have come to your land in our capacity as a diplomatic delegation to the Emperor’s court, and to ascertain the state of the flock of Christ here.” The green man looked at Marcus coolly, his face not betraying any sliver of emotion. He took a moment before he spoke.
“I am Cherzon Calvin, Jade Subprefect of the Second Order. It is my honour to count the greeting of foreign emissaries among my many duties.” He spoke in a level tone. “My subordinates and colleagues have told me of your letter, and have relayed what little you told them of your journey here. I must deeply apologise: I have not seen or heard of any letter from your Holy Father notifying us of your arrival.” Cherzon spat out ‘Holy Father’ with contempt. “It is with regret, therefore, that I must tell you that we have prepared no accommodations for you during your… visit.” Marcus was puzzled.
“Did you know of another of my predecessors, the Monsignor Aloysius? I understand that he stayed in the Imperial Palace, in a similar capacity to myself, until quite recently”. At the mention of Aloysius’ name, a slight grin played upon Cherzon’s face.
“Ah, the priest. He became quite enamoured with life at court, but alas, he was never enlightened with the virtue of temperance. I believe he disappeared to the city by the Bay, San Francisco, with a young courtesan that he had met in an opium den”.
Marcus was shocked. He had never known Aloysius, but for a scion of the Church to have fallen in this way was beyond belief. There was also the matter of the letter which he had seen himself.
“The Holy See received a letter some time ago, which purported to be from your Palace, here. It spoke of Aloysius’ death, and demanded payment for the dispensation of his body. If you know of where he was buried, I should like to consecrate the ground”. Cherzon grinned further, then shrugged.
“The Imperial staff is vast. Mistakes are made, identity can become confused. Or, people disappear. They can… forget themselves”. A wave of hushed laughter spread throughout the huddles of red-robed men at the sides of the hall. Marcus could hear Jonah’s breathing quicken, as the monk stood beside him. Jonah stepped forward abruptly. Marcus grabbed for his arm.
“Listen well, heathen - a prince of the Church has died, and we demand to know the circumstances in which he was-” Marcus pulled Jonah behind him.
Tacite, stultus! Haec homines sunt periculosa, et habemus opera-” Cherzon interrupted Marcus.
“What tongue do you speak?” His tone of contempt had become curiosity. Marcus composed himself, and turned back to him.
“The tongue of our Church, your… Learnedness”. The improvised honorific seemed to please Cherzon. “I apologise for my brother. His Order is far away, and I fear that his discipline is wanting after our long journey”. The apology seemed to work.
“We call it ‘lādīngyǔ’, ourselves. It was included by Elton the Lawgiver in his schema for Imperial Examinations, but it soon proved to be a worthless branch of knowledge. Civilised peoples do not concern themselves with the ravings of zealots, particularly not when written in a dead, dreary tongue”. Marcus kept his hand on Jonah’s arm. Cherzon tapped a pale finger against his chin. “I know why you have come. You have come to spread your Christ-worship, no?” Jonah stepped back into position beside Marcus.
“We come to attend to our brethren as best we can. Monsignor Aloysius wrote, in his early letters, of some small communities of Christians, spread throughout this land. We have neither the desire, nor the… means, to engage in proselytisation”. His words were carefully measured. Marcus knew, from the little reading that he had done on the customs of California, that here the state was the Church, or rather that they had no Church but the state. “The arms of Christ, however, are always open to those who wish to be received into His love”.
Cherzon considered him with a glassy stare. “Allow me to be clear. California has stood for centuries, under the rule of the Yudkows. From the first Elton, to His Celestial Majesty today, the good of the people has been well served by the divine guidance of the Emperor”. He narrowed his eyes. “We have no need for your ‘salvation’ here”. There was silence for a moment. Cherzon continued.
“As the Lawgiver wrote, balance must pertain throughout all things. All parts of heaven and earth must be aligned to their own, particular purpose, and their own, particular place in the divine order. Harmony, balance; these things are desirable. Disharmony and chaos are not. These are precarious, as though on the tip of a needle, and it is the duty of we, those tasked with maintaining order, to… ensure that the needle remains balanced”. Cherzon smiled broadly, gold teeth glinting between his lips. Jonah spoke again, more measured than last time.
“An early doctor of our Church once asked: how many angels may dance upon the head of a pin?” Cherzon laughed derisively, and shrugged. “All the angels in the world, for such is the power of God”. Cherzon’s expression dropped, overtaken by deathly seriousness.
“Absurdity. There is no place for such absurdity in this world, let alone this hall”. Jonah stared at Cherzon. Marcus stared as well, half out of fear, half out of defiance. If it was his fate to martyred for his faith, then so be it. Cherzon sighed, then spoke again. “Nonetheless, we recognise that you have a legitimate purpose as the representatives of a foreign court, and as ministers to your fellow Christ-lovers, however mistaken you all may be”. He clicked his fingers, and gestured to one of the red-robed men to come forward. “Introduce yourself”. The red-robed man spoke.
“Lorenzo Benton, Subprefect of the Third Order, attaché to Second Order Subprefect Cherzon Calvin, for the purposes of the greeting of foreign and alien emissaries”. The man, curiously, had no hair at all, even on his eyebrows. His speech was heavily inflected by the rolled r’s and percussive consonants of the tongue that Marcus had heard in Baja. Cherzon explained.
“Subprefect Lorenzo, prior to coming under my supervision, worked under Prefect Zhao in the Office for Divine Harmony of Will and Purpose”. Based on the conversation that they had just had, Marcus’ understanding of what Cherzon meant by ‘harmony’ was clear.
“My duties for Prefect Zhao were numerous”, the subprefect said. “One of them was the monitoring of any sedition in certain Nazarene communities following the unfounded rumours of the Emperor’s… illnesses”. Jonah’s posture shifted slightly upon hearing of ‘Nazarenes’, but Marcus was more perturbed by the implication about the Emperor’s health. He knew that in pagan realms, followers of Christ rarely fared well in times of unrest, second only to Jews in the speed at which their heathen neighbours would turn on them.
“Is that what you call them, Nazarenes? In the manner that Christ was a Nazarene?” Jonah was insistent, clearly to Cherzon’s annoyance.
“It seems reasonable to call a follower of the Nazarene a Nazarene. We have no issue with the Guru Jesus himself, of course. His spiritual guidance is full of wisdom; only, his followers seem to be taken with a certain kind of dogmatism when presented with alternative sources of divine truth”. Cherzon’s words surprised Marcus, for he had not known that the Lord was among those from whom these Californians, these strange, robed men, took guidance. There was a brief silence, before Jonah responded.
“You ought to read Christ’s words more carefully, your ‘Learnedness’”. The monk drew out the last word, making the sarcasm clear. “Nemo potest duobus dominis servire.” Cherzon stared, expressionless, at Jonah.
“I have already expressed my lack, both of knowledge and interest, in your lādīngyǔ words”.
“No man can serve two masters. My Lord.” Jonah stepped back, behind Marcus, and said no more. Cherzon turned to Marcus with a curious expression.
“You will soon learn that here, we place a great deal of importance on the content and delivery of what we say, especially to those in positions of official business”. He looked at Jonah. “You would do well to control your man. The hand should not command the head, after all”. With that, Cherzon turned away from the two Christians, bowed to the Imperial Throne, and strode out through a door in the back of the hall. Both Marcus and Jonah looked at Lorenzo, for lack of anywhere else to look. The Subprefect waited a moment while the door shut, then spoke.
“I am obliged to say, the attention that both of you paid to the etiquette due to a man such as Cherzon Calvin was severely lacking”. He expectantly looked at the two, but they said nothing. “In any case, he has left me with instructions to convey you to the port, where you will charter a ship to Jefferson”. He held out a small leather square. Marcus took it, and opened it. Inside were dozens of illegibly marked pieces of the same waxy material that the letter carrying news of Aloysius’ death had arrived on, all those years ago. Lorenzo saw Marcus’ confusion.
“Promissory notes. You tear out one half, notch it with the amount you are paying to someone, notch the same amount in the half you keep, and it is as though they have been paid by the Emperor Himself; they can exchange it for coin at an official mint”. Marcus subconsciously went to touch the much-diminished bag of Roman solidi which he had stored in his tunic pocket. As though he had read Marcus’ mind, Lorenzo said, “foreign coinage won’t be accepted anywhere. Our own coinage has had some recent difficulties in its reputation, so paper will do for now”. If the Emperor was debasing his own coinage, Marcus thought, then his hold over his lands must be more tenuous than the splendour of the Imperial Palace would suggest.
“The customary head of the Nazarenes is the Abbot of St Herman, in Jefferson. His name is Ephraim. If you wish to make enquiries as to the nature of their business and affairs, you ought to start there. Most do not publicly confess their faith, outside of the few who live ascetic lives. You will find, in the course of your stay here, that there are many Nazarenes who are unable to publicly describe themselves as such due to the constraints of their professional obligations”. Lorenzo looked directly at Marcus. “There may even be some such cases in the Imperial Palace. Perhaps even in this very room”. Both Jonah and Marcus stared at him. “With this, I wish you good fortune, and the Emperor’s blessings”. At Lorenzo’s departure, the two men were ushered out of the hall by an unspeaking guard, and from there, out of the palace.
The two had taken rooms at an inn by the riverport, and had stored their things there before going to the palace. Marcus sat at a drafting table, writing a letter announcing their arrival to the New Rome, which would be copied and sent to several monasteries by the Imperial postal service. By laying out the text in columns, then folding it tightly, he hoped that it would be mistaken for an administrative document and not intercepted. If it were to be intercepted, his conversation with Cherzon illustrated that he would have nothing to fear; clearly, nobody in Imperial service could read Latin. While he worked by candlelight, Jonah paced behind him.
“That subprefect was being coy. He might as well have told us outright that he was Christian!”
“It doesn’t matter, we’re unlikely to see him again. In any case, what is the significance of one concealed Christian in the Imperial Palace?”
“The significance is that if there is one, there might be many, many more. We have no way of assessing the true prevalence of righteous thought in this land, if the righteous are afraid of speaking out”.
“Angels on the head of a pin, indeed”. Jonah chuckled at Marcus’ wit, and Marcus turned to face him. “The Imperial Palace is ultimately not our concern. The Christians here, the Nazarenes, will continue to render unto Caesar what is due to him, as thousands have done before them”. He looked out the room’s window, at the dark, sluggish Sacramento River. It was illuminated sparingly by the light from the fires of riverside houses. “The true goal here is to establish a lasting connection between the Church and her lost daughter. We’ll assess whatever hierarchy they have already, identify any potentially heretical theologies that the faithful here may have developed during their… isolation”. Jonah nodded.
“What of the Emperor? If we are to go north, to this monastery, it may be perceived as a slight to not have waited for a personal audience with him”. Marcus turned back to Jonah.
“We’ve had the closest to a personal audience that we’ll get. The political situation, clearly, is unstable. Leaving Sacramento, and staying away, may be the best choice we have”. Marcus looked down at his hands, and absent-mindedly fingered the episcopal ring which had once belonged to Cardinal Lester. “We must take care not to let this land swallow us up, as it did Aloysius. The souls of millions are at stake, Jonah”.
Gladium spiritus, quod est verbum Dei”, Jonah said solemnly.
“Indeed it is, Jonah. His Word is, and will be, our sword”.

Nebuchadnezzar City building like Pharaoh & Caesar in Mesopotamia Gameplay & Features isometric 2D

This is an overview of all the Features and an early look at Gameplay from the upcoming Indie city building game set in Mesopotamia called Nebuchadnezzar made by Nepos Games developers and influenced heavily by Pharaoh, Caesar, Zeus and Emperor isometric 2D city building games.
The setting of Nebuchadnezzar is ancient Mesopotamia where cultures developed, grew and fell one after, and on top, of the other for thousands of years. During the campaign, players will get to rule over influential historical cities filled with magnificent monuments they will design and construct.

Hello and welcome to ancient times of plowing fields, milking goats and building massive monuments. We are going to take a trip to Mesopotamia on the 17th of february 2021, where developers over at Nepos Games will let us relive our fond memories of playing Pharaoh, Caesar, Zeus and Emperor isometric city building games in Nebuchadnezzar.
BUT with much, much more improved gameplay and mechanics. This was the promise these nostalgic game developers made, and I am here to tell you they delivered in spades!
They have overhauled and improved practically every aspect of the fan favorite games I just mentioned. From direct management of workers and production, over advanced AI pathing of agents to fully customizable monument building.
So let’s talk about all the features and gameplay Nebuchadnezzar has to offer.
The campaign is over a dozen missions long and for the first few of those you will have Gilgamesh as your trusty advisor and guide. He will take you through building the basic food production chain and making homes for your first settlers.
In future missions you will travel both through time and Mesopotamia in order to learn how to produce more types of goods and provide them to your citizens. In Nebuchadnezzar the upgrading of citizens' homes is tied to the supply of different goods like in all the old fan favorite isometric city building games, alongside specific services. There are 34 resources and goods which are produced out of them in total and 6 different services in this game.
But where Nebuchadnezzar differs from similar games is that each citizen class, of which there are three, have their own type of homes and they each require access to different goods and services to level up and increase in citizen capacity. More on this later in the video and my future tutorials on this subject.
Those goods need to be distributed to homes and this is just one of the places where the improvements to gameplay can be noticed. You get to manually employ citizens to work in the market as haulers and distributors in customizable slots. Each worker represents a certain percentage of your total free labor force for that class. Moreover, you also manually choose the routes these distributors will follow along the roads and you will see exactly which homes they will supply along this route. These routes can be edited at any time, shortened or lengthened and even copy pasted with two simple clicks to other distributors in the same market.
Farms, manufacturing buildings and other service buildings function much the same. You chose how many of the worker slots will be producers and how many haulers or service providers and manually setup their paths.
Another gameplay improvement are the distance ranges for each building in the production or service chains. When you want to place such a building you will see it’s maximum range in which haulers can transfer goods and resources. As long as a single tile of a building, like a warehouse, is in the range of a production building the two will operate in a chain, provided there is a road connecting them.
Naturally, some buildings and warehouses will simply be too far from each other because of their specific requirements and space constraints. Like a port and a production building of a certain good. This is why there is a special building where you can employ caravanners and set up simple one way transfer paths. These are especially useful in moving homes of your second and third citizen classes away from noise and smelly production buildings and still being able to deliver food and goods to warehouses from which more fancy markets can reach them. But pollution is just one half of the puzzle when it comes to attracting townsfolk and Aristocracy.
The second is beautifications which increase an area’s appeal. Gardens, statues, flower parks and fountains all contribute to making the areas where there are Villas and residences in which these two classes are to live in, more appealing.
This might now all sound like the complexity is going off the charts but the saving grace is the fact that each production chain is just two steps long. You gather or import a resource in one building, transfer it directly to another or a nearby warehouse and then produce a good out of it in another manufacturing building. Get those to a warehouse in range of a market which distributes them and you are done.
In this way you level up homes of each citizen class so that more of them can move in and become your workforce. Peasants will settle in with no requirements but to grow their homes to their maximum, fourth level they will need cheap goods and simple services like clean water and administration. Townsfolk and aristocracy on the other hand won’t even settle without having their base requirements fulfilled. Each of these citizen classes work in their own professions. Peasants work mostly in farms and industry manufacturing, Townsfolk in more advanced production chains, like furniture and meat, while even the aristocrats work in the most valuable and clean professions like jewelry and wine making.
Another set of gameplay improvements Nebuchadnezzar brings to this genre are the interface options. Beyond the double time control, which you can speed up to three and then multiply that speed by a factor of 4, and overlays for goods and services, right clicking on just about anything gives you a host of options. You can copy a building and even cut it to move it. Your most used buildings will also be there for you to quickly build more of. Each opened building information panel can be moved around the screen or even changed by adding or removing columns. The in-game menus offer both options and guides for the player. Here you can find the information about your prestige level, consumption and production of each good and resources, a map of nearby cities with whom you can trade and even a breakdown of each citizen's home and the requirements for leveling it up.
Since I mentioned trade, I will elaborate on that a bit. Some resources you can’t gather from the map. Like copper, gold, stone, ivory and so on. These you have to import from other cities by setting up a port on the riverside and opening trade relations with that city. This costs some goods and requires a set amount of prestige. Once contact is established, and you set a limit to how many resources to import and goods to export, you can sell goods from warehouses in the ports range and also import into those resources you require. This is the main way of making more gold by the way.
As for prestige, this you gain passively when you have more population settled in nice looking and advanced homes but you can also gain it actively through monument building and by fulfilling requests for goods from other cities.
The monuments themselves are something else entirely. Hanging gardens, a massive temple and a spacious palace. Each with a unique look and construction process but all made out of simple clay bricks. The default monuments are automated and will build themselves in awe inspiring detail. If you want to watch a timelapse of these monuments being constructed follow the link here
https://youtu.be/hjzly4Xpl4I
The truly innovative thing about monuments in Nebuchadnezzar is the ability to manually build them or some other shape entirely as you can construct these yourself, brick by brick. You can even color them as you see fit. Completing one such monument gets you a massive prestige boost and opponents up trade with many more nearby cities.
This is no doubt where modding will come into play as the developers are giving their full support for mods and scenario making which is already setup in the game. In the settings you will find a 4k interface option which I would advise using if you want to play in that resolution.
The version I played was quite stable and beyond a few unexpected crashes which developers have already fixed no other problems came up. I have enjoyed the music very much but some of it doesn’t closely match the lore so don’t be surprised when these come up.
The developers are to be congratulated on the animations, art style and textures as I had a blast just zooming in and watching all the citizens at work in their tiny workplaces using their tools and moving about.
Playing Nebuchadnezzar really cleaned my pink glasses and showed me just how many improvements those old isometric games were missing.
Thank you for reading!

Expand your experience with the full support of mods from new buildings, new goods, production chains, and even new maps, missions, and campaigns. It is almost entirely moddable. Localizing mods will also not be a problem. You can create mods in multiple languages and/or add languages to existing ones. This applies to the base game as well.

The Stars Wars rV1

The file is rendering now, I'll be editing to add a link down below tomorrow once it's been uploaded. Take note that this is a rough version 1; the focus of this leg of the edit has been to figure out the structure and plot for condensing the nine films, which I think has been largely achieved. I'm gonna be watching my son solo for the next couple weeks so I'll be taking a bit of break from this to compile as much feedback as possible and come back at it with a clear head. What doesn't make sense? What has been cut that feels sorely missed? What can be cut out further? I'm anxious to hear what people think about this. A future rV2 will include smoothed out audio, dialogue changes, scene alterations, repacing, etc. but that won't be out for at least a couple months.
NON-COMPREHENSIVE CHANGELIST:
I - LUKE (80 mins)
Ep VII & VIII - Rey, Han, Chewie, Poe & Finn first visit Ach-To. Luke turns Rey away, brief expo from Han.
Ep IV & VI - Obi-Wan (now Uncle Ben) finds Luke & droids in the desert. Cut to Obi-wan's hut and Leia's message, leading us into a radically trimmed down rescue mission ending with their escape after Obi-wan's death. Death Star shots have been replaced here with the in-construction shots from ROTJ; the idea here is that to cut the twin Death Stars by not showing the completed shots until the ST sections.
Ep VIII - Second visit to Ach-To. We get Luke's daily routine leading into the Jedi texts scene. Luke turns Rey away again, she leaves.
Ep V - Luke and the wampa leads into the snow storm and ghost scene. Han saves Luke, then Luke leaves for Dagobah. We then cut after Yoda agrees to train Luke.
Ep VIII - Rey & co return to Ach-To. Luke tells Rey about Ben, followed by his scene on the Falcon before agreeing to train Rey.
Ep V , VII, VIII - intercut Jedi training scenes into one sequence, leading into an intercut Luke/Rey force vision.
Ep V - Luke leaves Yoda for Bespin.
Ep V & VIII - intercut Vader & Kylo duels. We then see Luke visit Leia before he dies.
TM & Ep VI, Ep VIII - Brief sequence of Luke's the Mandalorian scenes leads into Yoda's death. His conversation with Obi-wan then cuts to a contemplative shot of TLJ Leia at Luke's familial realisation, leading us into the next chapter.
II - LEIA (36 mins)
Ep VI - Open on Luke's visit to Jabba's palace to save Leia & crew where successfully intimidates Jabba into releasing them.
Ep V, VII, IX - Rey training with Leia, leading into Leia's rescue of Han in TFA. Brief glimpse of their kiss in ESB, then we get them discussing Kylo Ren leading into Han leaving to find him.
Ep V - Cloud City scenes; I've tried to rework it so that there's no double-cross from Lando. Cut after the carbonite scene, changed now so that all of the heroes are being given to Boba Fett.
Ep VIII - TLJ opening battle, trimmed and leading directly into the post-hyperspace scenes. Kylo Ren joins the fray, shooting Leia's ship and blasting her into space.
Ep VI - The bike race on Endor goes straight into Leia meeting Wicket. We then see Threepio's story at the village before Leia talks to Luke.
Ep VIII - Leia pulls herself back in; chapter ends with her on life support.
III - ANAKIN (68 mins)
Ep I, RO, IV, VI - Cold open of Anakin's scene's in Watto's shop cuts to Vader's Death Star entrance from ROTJ then leads into Leia's torture and the imperial officer's scene.
Ep I, II, III - Qui-Gonn takes Anakin from his mother to join the Jedi. Qui-Gonn persuades them to train him before his death (off-screen; Maul is completely cut). I've also taken another editors scene from youtube to add Dooku to the funeral scene which leads into a trimmed Battle over Coruscant. Dooku's duel scenes from AOTC & ROTS are intercut, with some scenes I grabbed of a green-bladed Dooku since he's now a hero of the rebellion. We then head back to Coruscant, where's we see Anakin's induction onto the Jedi Council - giving him a front seat to their plot to overthrow Palpatine.
Ep IV & V - Vader and Obi-Wan's fight from ANH leads to him confronting the Emperor via hologram and realising Luke is alive.
Ep II & III - Here we get a sequence of Anakin & Padme falling in love on Coruscant and falling pregnant, leading into his dream and talk with Padme. We then jump back to see his mothers death on Tatooine.
Ep V - Hoth Battle is shortened into a quick sequence, followed by Vader hiring the bounty hunters before he welcomes the Emperor to the Death Star.
Ep III - Anakin sees off Obi-wan before visiting Palpatine at the theatre. The Darth Plageuis story then leads straight into Palpatine's revelation in his office. Anakin goes to the Jedi Chambers and finds them deserted. After his contact with Padme he heads back to Palpatine just in time to stop the Jedi coup.
Ep VI - Vader talks to Palpatine on the Death Star, then finds Luke on Endor.
Ep III - Order 66 followed by the MustafaSenate sequence goes straight into Padme's confrontation and Obi-wan's duel followed by the birth of Vader.
IV - BEN / REY (46 mins)
Ep VII, VIII, XI + FF - Ben finds Palpatine on the Death Star in the unknown regions, and is convinced to join him. We then get a brief intro of Ben remembering his turn (with a couple shots from The Tragedy of the Chosen One fan film on youtube) and building his helmet before we cut to his first TLJ Snoke scene, with lines added from TFA establishing Han as his father.
Ep VI, VII + FF - Ben talks to Vader's mask before a force vision takes us into a VadeKylo fight from youtube, cut just at Vader's victory. We then see Ben's med bay + force contact scene from TLJ, leading us into Rey's training course scene to show us that she's continuing her training alone. She gets her force vision which takes us back over to the Han Solo death scene; she is captured immediately after which brings us to the big Snoke scene from TLJ.
Ep XI - We're back with Ben as he returns to kill Palpatine- only to again be seduced. He returns to face Vader in a vision, this time emerging triumphant. We then cut over to Rey sailing to the Death Star ruins (now Snoke's Commandship), giving us her dark side vision and leading into their final duel followed by Rey returning to Ach-To after she heals Ben. We then cut back to Ben to see his turn to light side before the chapter ends.
V - FINALE (38 mins)
Ep VI, VIII, IX - Intercut ROTJ/TROS finales then lead into Rey on Tattooine, then a brief victory segment before the credits which leads into the broom boy as a post credits glimpse of the next Skywalker.
TOTAL RUNTIME: 4hr 38mins
FIX & WISHLISHT:
ASSETS LIST (rough):
EDIT: I'd be remiss if I didn't mention
I should also not that I've been a bit of a bastard in starting work on this before notifying the source editors. I wasn't sure this would work for a long time, but now that I can see what's needed I'll be making an effort to reach out to everyone who's material was used to get their go-ahead if it's to stay in for future versions.
Anybody who sees this and would like to contribute in some more is more than welcome. Feel free to use any ideas from this in your own edits. If you're inspired by this and would like to help in some way, don't hesitate to reach out to me. The scope of this edit would be benefitted by as many hands as possible. If you see this and are inspired to make your own single-film edit, I unfacetiously recommend you to do so. There's definitely a variety of different ways to approach an edit like this, and I'd love to see what some other editors could do with their own all-in-one edits.
EDIT: Unfortunately had some issues with the export I'm resolving now, link should still be out before Monday.
EDIT: In a funny and thoroughly annoying twist, the house of cards that was my audio layering seems to have gone haywire somewhere and it's going to take me a bit to figure out how to fix everything (as well as what happened, and why). If I'm not able to patch it back within the next few days then I'll be uploading some of the more interesting scenes on their own to at least give a sense of the edit. I'll vaguely keep you posted as things come along, but this occasion should serve as a clear message to myself to wait until everything is past double-done before releasing it.

Video form: https://youtu.be/uCjqDdB5tys
******

Housewife highlights/Daily shit talk - January 20th, 2021

ORANGE COUNTY
"Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Orange County may have just come to an end, but talk to any fan and they'll tell you that a lot has happened since filming wrapped—namely, Braunwyn Windham-Burke coming out as a lesbian and revealing she has a girlfriend named Kris.
The couple's relationship obviously didn't make the cut this time around, but does Braunwyn plan to introduce Kris to her castmates on *RHOC'*s next season? E! News' Daily Pop got the exclusive scoop.
"Yeah, I think she'll film with me," Braunwyn told co-host Justin Sylvester. "Not a lot—the women can be a kind of tough crowd— so I think I would like to keep it a little to myself."
The 43-year-old reality TV star clashed with said "tough crowd" a number of times this season, especially when it came to her sobriety. Of all the ladies, Braunwyn said Gina Kirschenheiter "has been the most supportive, hands down."
So far, she's had the opposite experience with her longtime husband Sean Burke. The two are still married, live together, remain "best friends," and even though she'd be "heartbroken" if Sean "ends up falling in love with someone else," Braunwyn would remain by his side, she said.
"We joke about the fact that it would be so much easier if [Sean] was gay," Braunwyn told Justin. "'Cause he's not. So, everyone that DMs him every day—he gets about 100 DMs—Shawn is straight! But of course, I would support him. I support my husband no matter what...We are family, and just like we support our children, we support each other."
The pair has seven children together—Hazel, 2, Koa, 4, twins Caden and Curran, 7, Jacob, 15, Rowan, 18, and Bella, 20—and when Braunwyn came out, "It wasn't hard at all with the older kids."
"Jacob and Rowan, they are sexually and gender fluid...They go to an art school and they are surrounded by very open-minded people in their own lives," she explained. "So for them, they were like, 'Okay. If you're happy, if dad's happy, that's all we care about."
MIAMI
"A top party promoter hosted a full-blown private concert in Miami over the weekend — complete with a slate of chart-topping performers, VIP guests and a crowd of 150 revelers.
We’re told rapper Post Malone, Scott Disick, Lil Pump, Tyga, and YouTube star Jake Paul all attended the huge bash over on Star Island to see performances by rapper Lil Baby, 24kGoldn and Gucci Mane.
According to spies, there were few masks and no social distancing at the Saturday night event.
We’re told the rager was a birthday party for Electric Feel Entertainment founder Austin Rosen, whose roster includes Malone and Goldn.
The party was held at the manse of “Real Housewives of Miami” alum Lisa Hochstein and her plastic surgeon husband Lenny (known as the “boob god”) and hosted by nightlife vet Richie Akiva.
Instagram videos from the night show maskless partiers packed together at the front of the stage.
One insider told us locals were “appalled” by the scenes.
But a less anxious source told us, “Miami is open bitches!” The unapologetic insider said that performers went on at midnight, which is the time when restaurants and other places in the city are required to close. “House parties are happening because people don’t want to go home, they don’t want the party to stop. People do not give a f–k,” says the source.
We are told guests were on an “honor system” to get COVID tests before the bash.
Hochstein insists it was all by the book: “We offered the backyard of our home to a friend that wanted to plan a last-minute get together … They were required to hire private security and cap the capacity at 150 people,” she told us. “Guests were temperature checked upon arrival and could only access the outdoor space surrounding our house. Guests were told to wear masks when not eating or drinking.”
DALLAS
“Real Housewives of Dallas” fixture D’Andra Simmons is worried about the long-term side effects of having COVID-19.
“I’m really scared about the fatigue because … I’m having a hard time sleeping,” she recently told Page Six. “So then if I don’t sleep, I can’t get the rest I need for healing. And also the body aches are lingering. As far as the memory loss, I haven’t had as much of that as my husband has, but that’s my biggest fear in the world, is losing my cognitive ability.”
The Ultimate Living founder was hospitalized with the coronavirus in December, and later said she was grateful to have been released from the COVID ward in time to celebrate the new year at home.
Now, her experience with the virus has led her to make a product, which is currently in the development stage, to help with cognitive functions.
“A lot of people that have been through COVID like myself, have noticed the cognitive decline, the memory loss,” she told us.
Still, Simmons found some humor in her illness.
“I will tell you the silver lining for me for COVID, you’re going to laugh your head off,” she said. “So, of course, I gained that quarantine 15, 20 like everybody else, I sat home and ate the whole time. So I plumped up. You can see that on the show. But then now having COVID I lost the COVID 15, 20!”
"You might be wondering what anesthesiologist Dr. Tiffany Moon, the latest addition to “The Real Housewives of Dallas,” is doing on a TV show more famous for drink-throwing than peer-reviewed medical journals.
Moon provided the Bravo franchise with both its first medical doctor and first-generation Asian-American star. And as a practicing physician who’s stayed on the frontlines of her city’s battle with COVID while raising a family, she admits she had limited familiarity with the show before joining.
“I don’t watch TV in general,” Moon, 36, told Page Six recently. “Honestly, I work, and I hang out with my kids and my husband, and then, I work. People are like, ‘What are your hobbies?’ And I say, ‘What’s a hobby?'”
However, she added, “Dallas is small. You run into the same people over and over again.”
So Moon has notched blink-and-you’ll-miss-her cameos in “RHOD” before, and says she’s known veteran cast members D’Andra Simmons and her mother, Mama Dee, “for many years.”
“D’Andra had always joked, ‘You would be perfect for ‘Housewives.’ And I would say, ‘Last time I checked, I was a full-time physician and mom. I’m not gonna do the show.’ That was a serious conversation we had around 2017. But things change. I went to some of the tapings, I saw that she was enjoying herself, and I thought, ‘You know what, why not?’ I’ve done everything else in my life exactly by the book and exactly how everyone expected me to. This time, I’m gonna do something totally out of my comfort zone that no one would expect of me. It’s not every day that Bravo knocks on your door.”
So Moon went about applying the rigor of her “day job” to her decision to join the show: “I made an Excel spreadsheet of the positives and negatives,” Moon explained with a laugh. “I did it in the most methodical, nerdy sense that I knew.”
Her list of reservations was short but impactful: “I have young children and I wanted to think about them; my husband is a prominent businessman in Dallas and I did not want this to reflect poorly on his business or embarrass him.
“I have very conservative Chinese parents that go to a Chinese church with my Chinese aunties and I didn’t ever want them to go to church and say, “Ai-ya, I saw Tiffany on TV and she’s embarrassing us,'” she continues. “Because that’s what Chinese aunties do. They gossip and drink tea.”
And lastly, “I worked my entire life to be where I am right now, and I did not want that to be invalidated because I was on TV arguing with women about petty things.” Ultimately, “I thought it would be a good platform to showcase a real-life working mom and use it to share my story and educate and inspire young women.
“No one tried to talk me out of it — not in my immediate family, at least.”
Moon, who was born outside of Beijing and immigrated to the States when she was six, wants that experience to be a part of her “RHOD” presence. “I want to represent the Asian-American community. We constitute a large percentage of the American population at this point and that’s not reflected in the media.” (Thus far, she has been vocal about educating the show’s other cast members about being on the receiving end of racism.)
“Maybe that sounds naive,” she admits. “Maybe in a year I’ll look back at this when it’s all been just a s–tshow and be like, ‘Why did I do that?'”
Moon also has several causes important to her that she wants to pull into the “RHOD” spotlight: One is North-Texas-based domestic-violence advocacy group The Family Place, on whose board she serves. She’s also judging a Valentine’s Day poetry contest (“I like Emily Barrett Browning; I like a little sad, forlorn poetry”) for Texans Can Academies, a nonprofit education organization that runs a network of dropout recovery schools.
“I was cleaning my house recently and I found the essay I wrote to get into med school, and it was all about how I wanted to help people and change things,” she says. “I was reading it, and I was like, ‘Oh, girl. You’re so innocent.’ Now I’m so jaded with organized medicine and everything that’s going on with the world … but reading that essay, I also thought, ‘God, I miss her.”
NEW YORK
"Heather Thomson has made several appearances on The Real Housewives of New York City since leaving the cast in 2015.
And the Yummie founder might be coming back in a more permanent capacity, after a slot was left open.
She recently revealed that she's making a return to the Bravo reality series in the upcoming 13th season, after Dorinda Medley was fired last year, as she appeared on Behind The Velvet Rope with David Yontef.
The 50-year-old said: 'There was a lot of buzz of me coming back and you know, I said, I think it was on stories, I did a video, you know that I'll be back, I'll be back. I'll be back. I'll be back. And I will. And I hold true to that.'
But it's not quite clear to what extent she'll be returning, whether she'll be joining the cast again or making a cameo.
She added: 'I, I have made a cameo on just about every season since I left the show. I've been off the show for six years, almost seven years. I haven't been on the show, but I've made a cameo each and every time. And I like my relationship. And until that doesn't feel good anymore, you know what I mean? Then I'll continue to do it.'
Yontef prodded for a firmer confirmation, referencing a recent lunch she had with co-stars Ramona Singer, 64, and Luann de Lesseps, 55, as well as a photo of 'the cast' that featured her, posted by new cast member Eboni K Williams, 37.
'No, she, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know,' Thomson responded, to which the host countered: 'That doesn't that, you know that doesn't tell us whether you're back or not Heather?'
She teased: 'Well, you know the answer to that question, you're going to have to tune in. And wait and see.'
Thomson referenced the promo images of the main cast: 'I don't know that I'll ever hold an Apple again. Does anyone hold apples anymore? Are they still, do they still at the beginning, hold the Apple. I don't even think they do.'"
BEVERLY HILLS
"Lisa Vanderpump is sharing her two cents on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast.
The former RHOBH OG recently appeared on Dear Media’s The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, where she said her former show had lost the “gravitas” it once had. She also dished on her new reality show and new Las Vegas-based restaurant.
During the interview, host Michael Bosstick noted that he’s not a fan of the Real Housewives. Oddly enough, Lisa agreed.
“Nor am I,” she confessed. “I do think it’s probably lost a bit of its gravitas.”
When asked what changed on the show, Lisa noted that her June 2019 exit from the series seemingly pulled the show in a different direction. She also pointed out that she was an anchor on the show and brought levity and a “down to earth” attitude to the program.
“A lot of people thought I was the anchor on the show and the narrative in terms of, maybe being somebody that kind of ignited conversation, but I’m also somebody who saw things in a very down to earth fashion, just actually brought some kind of, a level really to [the show],” she explained.
As for why she ultimately left RHOBH, Lisa says she couldn’t handle doing another reunion with all of the women coming at her.
Lisa explained that over the years, she had multiple negative housewives experiences with her former co-stars “coming at me.”
However, at this point in her life, she was done with “constantly being a target on that show.”
She also admits that going into season 9, she experienced an “emotional dilemma” as she was “really struggling” with her brother Mark Vanderpump’s suicide, which left her “beyond devasted.”
“I did suggest I take that season off didn’t feel strong enough,” she noted.
Lisa explained that she had “been the subject of a few gang-ups before, so I knew I had another one coming.”
When it came time to film the season 9 reunion, Lisa says she just couldn’t handle having the cast “all against me again.”
“This time, I thought fuck it – I can’t do this anymore,” she confessed. “I’m searching for happiness. They were all against me over this nonsense. It had no benefit for me. It was bullshit. Something clicked, and [I was like] I’m done.”
Meanwhile, Lisa hints that she has a “new show coming along” but says she’s “not allowed to talk” about it.
She is also planning to open a new restaurant in Las Vegas, which will mark her second venue in Sin City. In 2019, Lisa opened up the Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesar’s Palace.
“We’ve just started work on that now,” she teased about her new Vegas venture. “I’ve been designing that with my partner, Nick Alain. [I am] so excited about that, but that will be quite a few months away.”
MELBOURNE
"Pettifleur has left the glitz and glamour of the housewife life behind to brave the jungle instead.
This show is a far cry from RHOM, but still there’s plenty of opinions and clashes, would you say IAC been easier or harder?
IAC is completely different to RHOM. However, both shows have their challenges.
On IAC, we support and rely on each other and it's easy to be vulnerable. The trials, hunger, and the environment are very tough; many of us suffered from severe coffee and sugar withdrawals.
RHOM is very exciting to film with the glitz and glamour, amazing holidays, fancy lifestyles etc. However, the show is based on drama and it can be personally challenging to sustain the high level of drama all the time.
I wouldn’t call them clashes, just different opinions on IACwith heightened emotions due to the tough circumstances.
It’s been some time since your days on RHOM, are they behind you now or would you jump at the chance to return?
I wouldn’t say I’d jump at the opportunity right now, but I would never say never and shut the door on RHOM.
You never know what’s around the corner, after all it is the show that launched my television persona and I am forever grateful for the opportunity and very thankful to the people who believed I had something to offer RHOM.
Sparks are flying between certain camp mates, are you enjoying nay romance of your own since filming?
Sparks are certainly flying between some camp mates. Right now, I am not looking for romance. I am very content with my single life and enjoy my own schedule. I have my sons and they keep me young and happy.
What would you say are you biggest fitness tips to get a body like yours – it’s incredible!
Thank you. Weight training is very important to stay strong and protect your joints and bones. Start training when you're young, you will benefit from it when you get to my age; I started when I was 22 years old, hence my muscle definition.
Make exercise a part of your daily routine rather than a chore; being consistent makes it easy to stay healthy. Feed your body lots of good quality food and drink plenty of water: you cannot out-train a bad diet so its important to get your food intake right.
Do not diet, nourish your body with lots of wholesome food. I think a mix of activity is important so that you will not get bored. I do weight training, boxing, yoga and walking to balance my week.
In 2019 you met Hollywood superstar John Travolta, what was it he like to meet in real life?
It was a "pinch-me" moment meeting John Travolta backstage.
That smile, those beautiful blue eyes piercing through my soul as he looked in awe of me as he said "those are your sons? I don’t believe it you look so young!" I hadn’t felt more flattered in my life until that moment.
I will never forget how silky smooth his hands felt to the touch and how warm and genuine his embrace was.
On Instagram you proved to be very passionate about him – is safe to say you’re are a big fan?
When I was young, I had every magazine cover of JT pinned up all over my bedroom walls and my school bag was covered with stickers of JT in Saturday Night Fever and Grease.
I dreamed about meeting him one day. Never in my wildest dreams did I think my dream would come true. I became a mad Bee Gees fan because of JT.
You even used a flame emoji’s on a picture of him, would you say John is your type?
I think every lady from my era wanted to be Sandy. He is definitely a stud. I even got a pair of Sandy’s black pants. I think you are getting the picture. But most of all he is just a genuine and humble superstar."
"Abbie Chatfield and Ash Williams have been getting hot and heavy in the jungle on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
But it appears a love triangle is forming in camp with Pettifleur Berenger, 56, confessing she could steal the hunky comedian away from Abbie.
During Monday night's episode, The Real Housewives of Melbourne star said she could take Ash if she gave him the 'green light'.
After looking at Abbie and Ash cuddling in camp, she said: 'Abbie is very keen and Ash is going with the flow. You can't blame the guy, right?'
Pettifleur then spoke with co-star Grant Denyer in a private conversation about her affections for the muscled comedy king.
'[Abbie's] scared that he's going to slip away, so she's hanging tight, I reckon,' Pettifleur said. 'And if I give Ash the green light, she's going to lose him.'
Grant got Pettifleur to explain what the 'green light' was for, with her saying: 'Oh, to have a bit of a kiss and a cuddle.'
Pettifleur said the comedian has made her feel 'a lot softer' since coming into the camp with her admitting she has had her barriers up.
'I've been barricading myself in this big iron cage,' said Pettifleur, before Grant suggested maybe she should look for an unattached campmate.
'He's ticking all the boxes for me at the moment. He's really started chipping away at me,' said Pettifleur.
She then lamented her frustration with Abbie: 'You can't even get, like, frickin' two seconds,' she added. 'Like, that would be gone if I really wanted to.'
Ash later spoke with Grant and Alli Simpson saying 'he was in trouble' with the women fighting over his affections.
'So, she's legit huh,' Ash said, talking about Pettifleur.
'I'm going to have to actually talk to Paulini and get her to simmer the whole thing,' he said, of the women fighting for his affections."
JERSEY (UK)
"Real Housewives of Jersey star Kate Taylor has opened up on her battle with depression after splitting from her ex-husband.
The 52-year-old reality star has revealed exclusively to Entertainment Daily that she was left bed bound for 18 months, as she battled through the “lowest point of her life”.
Thankfully, Kate overcome her struggles “a little while ago” following a trip to Bali.
Kate’s struggles began soon after her bitter split from her ex-husband.
Speaking to ED!, she said: “I spent 18 months basically in bed with a horrible depression. I’ll never go back there again.
“I didn’t expect to be on a TV show back then – I was lucky enough to want to see the next day. I used to have my girl called Friday, she would beg me every day to get up out of bed.
“That was the lowest point in my life.”
During her break to Bali, Kate took part in daily yoga and meditation sessions.
And while the decision to remain celibate following the spiritual trip seemed to be a good idea at the time, Kate told us otherwise.
She added: “In Bali I did this love, relationships and intimacy course. Because I’m such a [bleep] I went celibate for a year, then we went into lockdown.
“I mean, have you tried getting laid at a two-metre distance?!
“I’m the most sexual, tactile creature in the world. If someone said to me, ‘What’s your favourite past time?’ Well, it used to be trying to get as much attention as I could from my husband.”
Kate’s marriage came to a tragic end after her ex-husband moved on with a younger woman.
Despite things not being great with her former partner, Kate is working to improve her relationship with son Finn.
Fans of the ITVbe series will know the star has shared a strained relationship with the 21-year-old following her marriage breakdown.
So how are things between them now?
“I saw him Christmas Day,” she admitted. “He came around and it was the first time he had ever been to the flat!”
Proving she’s still hopeful the two can work through their issues, Kate added: “Finn is the most beautiful soul you could ever meet. I know that’s all the other side of the family that are drip feeding him poison, but that’s not my problem.
“He will come around. You cannot break the bond of love between a mother and a son.
“This is just a phase he has to go through before he realises my true worth.”
In the meantime, Kate is keeping busy with best pal and neighbour Margaret Thompson.
The pair, who have known each other for over 30 years, live next door to each other in Jersey.
Despite their close bond, Kate is still unsure whether she’ll join her bestie on the next season of the reality show.
In fact, she’s keeping her options open until the finale episode.
When ED! asked Kate whether a series two was in the pipelines, she explained: “They don’t know! I think they’re lining us up a little bit for it.
“They’re seeing if we’re interested and if we would want to do another season. I’ve promised Margaret I will not make up my mind until the last one has gone out.
“We’re in week four now, so in six weeks when I’ve seen it all I’ll make a decision.”

Paris' interlude translation

Interlude: "A hero must be like this", the boy thinks.

Did you ever have an inferiority complex? Ever felt like a close one was better than you, or wanted to run away from an enemy? My answer is yes to all questions. I have a mountain of complexes. No matter how hard I try, how much I struggle, I can never reach the level of the monsters. Everyone runs off, leaving me behind. Ah... being a hero is awfully, awfully difficult. That was what the Trojan War was about. That was what my whole life was about. What is a hero, even?
[Scene opens in a Chaldea room]
Paris: Sigh...
Apollo: And that's the story. Paris has been melancholic these days, though still cute as ever.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fujimaru: Your true colors are showing, sun devil...! / Paris is always cute...!
Apollo: Excuse me. Sun GOD.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fujimaru: Your true colors are showing, sun devil...! / Paris is always cute...!
Apollo: Always cute. Any time. Anywhere. That's Paris' charm, in my opinion. Let's discuss it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paris: Dear Apollo, you're not helping. (hurls him away)
Apollo: Whaaaaaaa.
Paris: Anyway. You know Chaldea is filled with decent, proper heroes, right? I feel inadequate!
Apollo: You say your defeatist statement with a lot of pride. That's very cute of you.
Paris: But I think I can't stay like this forever.
Apollo: No, you can, you're really cute being useless.
Paris: Ugh, let me finish what I'm saying...
Fujimaru: Dear Apollo, shut up for a minute.
[Fujimaru starts squishing Apollo]
Apollo: Mghmgh. I can't breathe.
Paris: Thank you, Master! But, I have no idea what am I supposed to do. So I decided the first step was asking for your reliable advice!
Fujimaru: Hm, let me think...
Paris: (Bated breath)
Fujimaru: Have you tried... asking someone else?
Apollo: Questioning other heroes, huh? That's a fine idea. The values of heroism changes with different lands and eras. Pursuing those differences might lead Paris to find something. Or maybe not.
Paris: Please be more supportive! You didn't need to say that last part.
Apollo: Alright, let's give it a go.
Paris: One more thing, Master, are you...
Fujimaru: Going along? Of course!
Paris: Yaaay! Thank you!
[They leave to the hallway]
Apollo: So, the plan is to wander around, and talk to the first random hero we're lucky to find.
Achilles: He-ya, Master and Paris. What're you doing?
Paris: ... Can I get a reroll, please?
Achilles: What that hell you're talking about?!
Paris: Screw you.
Achilles: Sure, whatever. I'll buzz off if that's what you want.
Apollo: Achilles.
Achilles: What?
Apollo: Buzzing is what insects do. You should not be comparing your worth to theirs.
Achilles: O-ok.
Apollo: It'd be an insult to the insects. They're actually important to the ecosystem.
Achilles: Alright, you're dead meat!
Fujimaru: Calm down!
[Time skip]
Paris: Ok, let's start for real, now!
Apollo: Yeah!
Fujimaru: Will this go well, I wonder...
[We enter the cafeteria. Tell, Romulus, Ashwattaman, and Parvati are there.]
Paris: Oh, yes. There's so many of them here. Although I think some of those are gods.
Apollo: The Greeks are immediately off the list.
Paris: And we should prioritize the heroes who are easy to talk to!
Fujimaru: In that case...
[We go to Beowulf and Rama]
Fujimaru: Those two should be a good start...
Beowulf: Hah? What you mean, Master?
Rama: Excellent timing. I just finished my meal. Anything you need me for? Ah, if it is training in the simulator, I am ready to go.
Paris: N-nice to meet you! I, uh, my name is Paris!
Fujimaru: I got a favor to ask...
Beowulf: So that's the deal. I may not be the best choice, but Rama sure is.
Rama: Hahaha, you humble yourself far too much, Beowulf. You have much more to say about what makes a hero. The only thing I have over you is being younger.
Beowulf: Nope. After all, I'm a Berserker. I can't form long thoughts. Ah, whatever. It's just talking about heroism. I can give it a try.
Rama: Certainly. However, that is not a subject for us to discuss in the middle of the cafeteria. Let us move to the combat simulator.
Paris: Y-yes, sir!
[We go to a grassland in the simulator]
Beowulf: I just imputed we wanted a wide, open space, and this is what we got.
Rama: So, going from youngest-looking to oldest-looking, I shall speak first. Fine?
Beowulf: Yeah, go off.
Rama: Alright, Paris. Let us try to organize the problem in your head. Here in Chaldea, there are as many prestigious heroes as there are stars in the sky. You cannot deny that your own achievements fall behind in comparison to some.
Paris: Y-yes. That's exactly it. Kickstarting the war is far from the only problem I caused!
Rama: You fall behind in achievements, and in power. If that's true, then why are you here? Anyone could replace you. Is that what you think?
Paris: Yes. Pretty much... am I wrong? We have people who shoot arrows better than me, and people who are smarter than me.
Rama: We do. Sorry for the cruel words, but you are completely correct.
Paris: Ghh.
Rama: This is a fact. Were you a child, I would have attempted to sugarcoat my words, but you are the hero Paris, so I will state the facts unreservedly. Ultimately, all of us are replaceable.
Paris: Ah, aaaaahhh. For real?
Rama: Evidently. We all gathered in one place under the righteous cause of the Human Order. We all wish to save it, and we all try to fulfill the roles we were given. But our resources are finite, and very few can fulfill the role of Master. That is why it is important that everyone is replaceable. Necessary, even. Upon my defeat, a next hero would appear to finish my duties in my stead. Upon someone's defeat, I must finish their duties in their stead. We are not marathon runners, we are relay runners passing the baton of human history, so it can reach our anchor, the Master. You lack resolve if you cannot accept the fact you are disposable. I, at very least, accept this fact with joy. It means me not getting my chance to shine would not be a problem.
Paris: I... see...! I see, I see, I see! That makes a lot of sense, thank you!
Rama: It was no big deal. Calm down, Paris. That was merely my opinion. Although, I know I am a model king, if I must say so myself. I am passing you the baton now, Beowulf.
Beowulf: Gotcha... Lemme see, I know I'm giving an unoriginal response with no real substance, but have you ever heard this saying? "With great power comes great responsibility." Think about it. Some people think the opposite. "I got this great power, all for myself! I can use it however I want!". What do you think, Paris? Which is the right one?
Paris: Huh, err... um... I think deciding you can do whatever you want... is not very nice. You won't get anywhere without responsibility.
Beowulf: Even if you go completely unrewarded?
Paris: What?
Beowulf: To get considered a hero, you gotta bet your life on something, big or small. An adventure to kill a dragon, an expedition to find treasure, a ploy to deceive someone, a war to preserve peace, etc. Or even an invasion to disrupt peace, I guess. It doesn't matter if you're good or evil, just that the reward is worth staking your life. But some heroes don't even get that. Happens a lot, no? Some dude returns home as a hero, gets betrayed by his friends, and killed. A man fighting for the weak chickens out in the end, and dies. Not every hero is a winner, and not every powerful person with responsibility will get rewarded. Knowing that, you think it'd be tasteless to enforce rewards?
Paris: That's... uh, I don't...
The words keep spinning and spinning inside my head. What am I supposed to do? What's the right answer? What would a hero do? What would Hektor do? He'd have an easy, quick answer to this question. Him... that other hero would also have a quick answer. I'm sure all other heroes have wills that can lead them to the right answer... I don't know. Power demands responsibility. Power doesn't reward. What's the solution?
Beowulf: Ok, time's up.
Paris: What?!
Beowulf: No answer? Give him a hand, Rama.
Rama: I know. You want to teach him the Spartan way... the Leonidas way.
Beowulf: Could work. Idiots can be heroes, as long as moving their bodies without thinking leads them to understanding something. Well, the question was so hard for Paris that his brain crashed, so let's try something a little different.
Rama: If that is the only way... Then, Paris, you pair up with Master.
Paris: ... What?! Oh, pardon! Did you call me?!
Rama: Indeed. Beowulf and I will fight you. Worry not, we are just training. You might see something you could not before if you move your body... Or maybe not.
Paris: U-understood! I welcome your challenge! Let's do it, Master!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fujimaru: Roger. Let's go! / Be careful, the opponents are tough!
Rama: Huhu. Training or not, a battle between heroes is always a violent clash. None should hold back!
Beowulf: I won't, of course.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fujimaru: Roger. Let's go! / Be careful, the opponents are tough!
Beowulf: Oh, glad you find me find me tough. Time to land ya one solid punch, no holding back!
Paris: I-I'd appreciate if you didn't.
Apollo: Yeah, you better not.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apollo: Go all out against Master, but you should hold back against the rest of us.
Beowulf: Now you're a self-centered one, Greek sun god. You sure live up to your reputation. Take it as a compliment if you want.
Rama: Let us set rules for the match. If you knock any of us down even once, we will admit defeat. Also, no killing, obviously. Alright then, let us start!
[Battle against Rama and Beowulf. You must put your Paris in the front row. Hero training activates at the start of the battle, giving permanent 1-time full-HP Guts to Rama, Beowulf, and Paris. Pop any of the enemies' Guts and you instantly win.]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paris: Huff, huff, huff...
Beowulf: Alright, we're done. Any ideas? No? You really can't find your answer?
Paris: No... On the contrary...
Beowulf: What you mean?
Paris: Fighting with so much running through my head... made me feel sick... Blergh.
Beowulf: Oh. Ok... Not my best idea...
Rama: You walk a thorny road, Paris. That said, from what I can tell, you already have your answer.
Paris: Oh, do I?!
Rama: You have it, but cannot see it. So, if you ask me what you need to do next...
Paris: Yes?
Rama: You must ask heroes who were never called heroes. Luckily for you, Chaldea is a place with many of those.
Paris: I'll g-give it a try! I'm kinda scared, though! Thank you very much. I'll be taking my leave now!
[Paris goes on without Fujimaru]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fujimaru: Thank you, guys! / Paris, waaait.
Beowulf: It's nothing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fujimaru: Thank you, guys! / Paris, waaait.
Rama: Master, take good care of Paris!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Fujimaru leaves the simulator]
Beowulf: Alright, Rama. We already started a fight, so let's keep it going!
Rama: Aye, I accept. Are doing it with swords, or something else?
Beowulf: Something else... Good one, let's swap weapons for a change!
Rama: Very well... Then, I will have to take the bow for this one!
[Scene cuts to Paris and Fujimaru questioning Inshun, then Jack and Nursery, without any good result. They ask Tell, Geronimo, and Robin in the forest simulator. Still nothing. Caesar, Iskandar, and Vlad in the Roman palace simulator. Nothing.]
Paris: Uhh...! I heard a lot of useful advice, but the more I heard, the more confused I got.
Fujimaru: You went through a lot of very different perspectives.
Paris: Yes. A modest man who learned martial arts only for self-improvement. A dream-like entity who isn't a hero. A bloodstained person who isn't a hero. People who sullied their hands before they noticed it. And warriors who weren't repulsed to the idea of sullying them, or fought against something through heartless ideas and heartless decisions. People who were the very definition of a hero, despite having never been considered one. Was there anyone like them in the era I lived? It's all starting to come together. I can vaguely tell why I'm here, and what I need to use my power for. It must be because...
I said my answer. It might be wrong. But weirdly enough, I said it without a hint of fear of being mistaken. Not because I was sure I was right, but because that's the answer Master and I figured out together. And now I can speak face-to-face with a hero. With the one hero I must speak face-to-face with.
[Scene cuts to a castle in the simulator]
???: So? Found your answer?
Paris: It might be wrong, but I found the answer that works for me.
???: Then, hm, are you ready for a graduation test? Are you standing your ground as a hero, or are you better off suspending your Saint Graph? As your brother, I gotta put you to the test.
Paris: Yes! I am Prince Paris, child of Troy and Apollo, brother of our greatest hero Prince Hektor! Here I go!
Hektor: Alright, come at me. You too, Master!
Apollo: You heard him, Master, representative of humanity. Take good care of my Paris. He can probably win with his Noble Phantasm, but, naturally, the other guy won't be very willing to let us use it... That's why the two of us will need to find a solution! Specifically, cancelling debuffs. Pay attention to that!
Fujimaru: Roger!
[Hektor vs Paris solo battle. Starts with Hektor's pressure giving Paris 3-turn attack and defense debuffs, Hero training removing Class disadvantage, and Apollo's blessing giving Paris permanent unremovable stun immunity.]
Hektor: Alright, that's enough. I ask. Is there a point to you being in Chaldea?
Paris: By my name's honor, I'll answer you. There's none.
Hektor: Heh... What does that mean?
Paris: My presence here is nothing more than a coincidence. The Trojan War had many heroes stronger, smarter, and more dedicated than me. And some died nameless despite having the noblest intentions. I'm nothing more than their replacement. What I'm trying to say is that... Responsibility doesn't automatically arise in those with power, it only arises after power is gained. That's something I absolutely must accept, no matter how unfair it looks... No, putting it that way, I'm still trying to run away from something. In my case, responsibility means... I must accept all consequences of gaining power, whether I run away or fight, become evil or champion justice. All of them. With all the hopes, despairs, joys, and fears involved. I'll accept them all. And then I'll yell: "My heart is where it must be. My soul is where it must fight.". Even if no one else acknowledges it, I'll still do it, to carry the burden of my responsibility!
Hektor: ... Interesting.
Paris: If my answer goes against your values, please scold your disloyal brother. But know that I have no intention of backing down on my opinion!
Hektor: No, no, who do you think uncle He... wait, no, brother Hektor is? You can think whatever you want. Those are your own thoughts, right? Not thoughts someone handed to you?
Paris: Oh, uh. I received a lot of advice from many other people...
Hektor: That much's obvious. I wasn't asking you any easy question you could figure out with just introspection. But I've heard enough. Guess you passed the test.
Paris: Thank you, Hektor!
Apollo: Ok, business' over. Let's have some fun now, Paris.
Paris: Oh, please, Apollo! But, ok, fine. Before anything, I want to go around thanking everyone! Master, if you excuse me, I'm leaving!
Fujimaru: Bye bye.
[Paris walks away]
Hektor: Sorry my little bro left you, Master. Well, Paris' what he is, but for now, he's showing some promise. A hero who was lost, received advice, and found his way. If staying by your side's what it takes to let him live his life facing forward, moving on from the failures of his lifetime... well, I think he'll get there.
Fujimaru: You're so kind, Hektor.
Hektor: Hahaha, not at all. If he didn't have his answer, uncle Hektor'd have crushed him to make him be responsible.
Fujimaru: But you believed in him, right?
Hektor: ... Man, I was so confident in my poker face... Well, after we've been together for so long, I guess that happens.
[Scene cuts to Paris and Achilles in the hallway]
Achilles: Hm?
Paris: Ah...
Achilles: Yo, what's wrong, Paris?
Paris: I've been pushing myself for the longest time to say this to you...
Achilles: What?
Paris: I can tell that my shot didn't kill you.
Achilles: Come again?
Paris: That was thanks to Apollo's power, and the powers of everyone other than me. The responsibility is all mine, but that was not an arrow I could shoot with my own strength.
Achilles: Does this detail really matter that much?
Paris: It's the most important detail to me. If were to fight again, I want to defeat you with my own power.
Achilles: ... Got it! I'm ready for the fight. Whenever that happens, I'll go all out.
Paris: Ok... That's all I had to say. Bye, scumbag!
Achilles: Sure, whatever.
Paris: Oh, and one more thing. ...ank yo...
Achilles: Couldn't hear it.
Paris: Shut up, jerk!
[Paris walks away from him]
Whew, that was scary. But I said pretty much everything I had to. I'm tiny, unreliable, and hopelessly lacking in power compared to other heroes, but I'm still responsible for my power. I have to muster all of my courage to choose not to run away from that.
Paris: Alright, here I goooo!
[Scene alone with Apollo]
Apollo: Hmm. I see. Souls really know how to shine. It'll take a little long before I ever get bored again. Well, Paris has always been a boy I could never get bored of!

New profile section
Purity, innocence, and bravery are all aspects of humanity seen as positive, but some critics would say that only makes them worse as flaws.
He's straightforward, for better or for worse. The moment he learned about Helen's unfortunate wedded life, he took her away. He was being instigated by the gods, yes, but that was still an act of justice on his part.

Hektor knew his little brother's actions would lead to big problems, but did nothing to stop him.
Wars inevitably happen at some point, regardless of reason, and he knew both side were putting their prides on the line, with no room for compromises.

Paris met a regretful and heartbreaking end in the Trojan War.
But upon being summoned, he fights with simple honesty, without ever sulking. Consider him earnest, in a sense.

However, beware of Apollo, the one who comes bundled with Paris. He considers preserving Paris his first priority, and has little to no concern for anything else, not even his Master.

Which Winners are still working with Gordon/ Where did they end up/Which other HK chefs now work for him update.

I know there are about 5 winners still in touch or working with Gordon.
Christina still works at Paris Las Vegas and is Gordons right hand women, as sous chef in Hells Kitchen, and supervisor of his Las Vegas resturants.
Scott apparently now works in Hells Kitchen Las Vegas Caseras Palace.
Rock made appearances on 24 hours to hell and back and now apparently works at Gordon Ramsay BLT Steak in Bally's Las Vegas.
Ryan apparently still works at Yardbird but probably has taken the year off due to personal issues.
I,m guessing the season 19 winner will work at Lake Tahoe.
Ariel Fox declined to work at HK Caesars Place and now is the VP of Del Friscos Grille, Del Friscos Double Eagle, and Dos Cominos in NYC. She is making over a million dollars and is very successful.
Michelle resigned in August and Scott took over due to harassment from the fans and customers. She moved back to Dallas and is practicing to become a registered dietician.
Ariel Malone worked at BLT Steak in Las Vegas but resigned in 2017 to start a family. She's apparently been replaced with Rock.
Meghan worked at Pub and Grill at Caesars Atlantic City and resigned in March 2018, and apparently has since been replaced by Kristen Barone the runner up from season 15.
La Tasha worked at Pub and Grill at Caesars Palace Atlantic City for a year before becoming a private chef. She has been successful and has a lot of money.
Paul worked at BLT STEAK in NYC, then moved to Miami and became head chef at BLT STEAK Miami, so he technically is still working at his prize just at a different state.

Dave was ripped off of his promised prize as he was a line cook instead of head chef, and therefore didn't work for their restaurants. In 2014 Dave was arraested, but released after he was proven innocent. He now works at a bakery and helps his sisters music career.
Nona worked at LA Market for 3 years then resigned to start a new restaurant.
Danny worked at Borgota Hotel and Spa for a couple of months then started a catering company called Back From Hell catering as a reference to the show. He apparently still keeps in contact with Ramsey.
Christina M worked at London West Hollywood for 10 months then went back to culinary school. She has still remained friends with Ramsay and came back on season 16.
Heather worked at Terra Rossa Resturant for a year then resigned and became sous chef for season 6. Heather has been on other cooking shows in past years including Beat Bobby Flay and Food Hound. She is now married and has two kids.
Michael was offered to work under Ramsay in London, but declined due to family reasons then was offered a job at the Tatou at Los Angles and worked there for a few years before starting his own knife company. Since then he has had a rough time as he divorced, lost his job, lost his daughter and was homeless and addicted to drugs. He has since remarried, had another child, and got a food truck.
There have also been several runners up and third placers that have been working at his resturants or at the show.
Kristen Barone is now works at Pub and Grill Las Vegas
Jay opened up several successful restaurants, authored multiple cookbooks, is now the blue teams sous chef for Hells Kitchen
Mia Castro has been very close to Gordon as she is the host of 10 minute meals, and is probably one of the candidates to be head chef in a new restaurant or if someone else resigns. She is a rising star in his world.
Jon Scallion also has been extremely successful since leaving HK. He worked as sous chef to Christina W in Paris Las Vegas. Apparently since October 2020 he is the executive chef of Gordon Ramsay North America so he is one of the most important figures of the HK team in North America. He's also a millionaire apparently.
Milly has been a key part of Ramsays group since season 17 as well. He now works at Pub and Grill Atlantic City.

Home for Christmas

A Dragon Raja fan fiction by N.S.K.
MC’s phone lights up on their bedside table while they are getting ready for bed. It’s a text from Chime. MC grins as they rush to read his message.
“Hey, do you have any plans for Christmas?” MC smiles warmly as another message comes through. “Even though my brother left me, I’d still visit Tokyo for ramen every Christmas. Would you like to accompany me?” MC types their response, fingers tapping rapidly across the screen as they anxiously bite their lip.
“Actually, I do have plans, and they include you!” MC chuckles as they hit send. Chime replies in the blink of an eye.
“They do?” the text reads. MC snickers, feeling excited about the surprise birthday party for Chime.
“Yup! I’d love to try the new ramen restaurant with you…if you want to.” MC crosses their fingers and taps their foot, praying that he’d agree to come along.
“As long as I’m with you, if doesn’t matter where we eat <3” Chime replies. “Is it okay with you if we stop by the Hydras palace before we go? I actually want to anonymously drop off gifts for Chisei and Erii.”
“Sure, that’s fine with me. I actually wanted to stop there myself.” MC smirks realizing the plans are coming together.
“I know it’s weird that I want to give a gift to my brother. Despite all he did, I still love him.”
“It’s not weird. It’s really sweet.” MC sighs. “You never know…he might be thinking of you too this year. I’m sure he’ll appreciate the gift.” MC lies down on the bed, clutching the phone close to their face.
“Thank you,” Chime replies. “You should rest now. Please take care, and I’ll see you on Christmas.”
It’s Christmas night and MC grabs their belongings and drives to Chime’s apartment. The air is freezing and there is a slow snowfall. Chime rushes out to the car holding a huge gift and a smaller gift on top of it. MC hurries to open the back door for him so he can rest the gifts down.
“Whoa that’s a huge box!” MC exclaims.
“That one is for Erii,” Chime replies cheerfully. “I hope she likes it.”
“I’m sure she will love it.” MC gently places their hand on the roof of the car and leans. “And the smaller one is for Chisei?”
“Yeah…” Chime replies softly. He looks down at his shoes, slightly slouching. His lips start to quiver. MC noticing his sudden change of mood, softly pokes him on the nose with their index finger.
“Boop!” MC exclaims with glee. Chime sniffles and looks back up at MC. “Come on, let’s get this party started!” MC exclaims cheerfully. Chime chuckles, smiling warmly at them. A smile that can warm even the coldest heart on this snowy night. They both crouch into the car and a few minutes later, they arrive at the Hydras palace.
After climbing a few slippery steps, they reach the front door of the palace, presents in hand. Chime carefully squats to rest the gifts down in front of the door. MC tries to stop him.
“Chisei left the door open for me,” MC says while pretending to look through the window. “I don’t see anyone in there though. We should be able to go inside.”
“I don’t want to go inside. I’m not welcome here.” Chime crosses his arms and avoids eye contact with MC. “As you know, I did a lot of horrible things in the past. I even hurt my family in many ways. I’ve hurt Chisei too. I don’t dare set foot in the palace.”
“All of that is in the past,” MC replies. “What matters is what you do now. So what, if someone sees you in there? It doesn’t matter. You’re here for the people you care about and this is an act of love.”
“They’d kill me on sight.”
“Nonsense,” MC says waving their hand for Chime to follow. “You’re with me. Plus, it’s better to leave the gifts where it’s warm, right?.” Chime nods and hesitantly follows MC in. The room is dark and MC guides Chime through it. Suddenly, the lights flash on and a large group of people jump out the shadows. Startled, Chime drops the gifts and shifts into his fight stance.
“Surprise!” The crowd shouts. Chime exhales, relaxing his tense muscles and slowing his heart rate. He examines the faces staring back at him. There’s Caesar Gattuso, holding out a glass of wine, Johann Chu waving at him, Luminous moronically presenting the cart of ramen being pushed in by Koshi, Finger holding a camera, NoNo and Erii uncovering the cake, and Chisei…approaching Chime with a hand held out. Still in shock, he hesitates, but Chisei stares at him with a sincere gaze. Chime finally reaches out and Chisei abruptly pulls him into an embrace.
“Brother…” Chime whispers as he begins to sob in his arms.
“Happy birthday, Chime,” Chisei says warmly as he hugs him tighter. “I’m sorry…for everything.” Chime lets go of him and their eyes meet. “I failed you and treated you as an outcast for so long…I was afraid to accept the fact that I should have protected you but failed numerous times.”
“It’s okay…” Chime replies as he wipes his tears. Erii jolts from NoNo’s side and comes running to Chime, arms open wide. She firmly hugs him, almost lifting him off the ground. Chisei chuckles at the sight while everyone looks on at the reunion with admiration. Once Erii lets go, Chime gently pats the top of her head. Erii’s smile is so wide, her eyes squint.
“I heard my little sister was good this year,” Chime croons. “So, I brought this giant gift for her.” He picks up the big box and hands it to Erii. “Happy birthday, Erii,” Chime says lovingly. Erii briefly hugs him again and pulls out her little notebook.
“Thank you, other brother,” Erii writes on her notebook. “Happy birthday to you too. Me and NoNo baked the cake. I will be very happy if you eat a lot of it!” She then eagerly tears away at the gift-wrapping paper and opens the box. Out of it, she pulls a huge rubber ducky, the size of a puppy. Erii energetically jumps up and down and then she holds the rubber ducky in the air and twirls. Chime quickly glances over in MC’s direction who is holding a thumb up for him. Chime smiles and looks over at Chisei again.
“I got something for you too, Chisei,” he says. Chisei looks over at Chime in surprise as he is handed a gift. Chisei grins and quickly opens the package, revealing a bottle of sunscreen. Chisei looks back up at Chime with a puzzled look. Chime places a hand on his shoulder. “Happy birthday, Chisei. I know you plan on selling sunscreen on that nude beach in France. I didn’t want you to get sunburn while doing it.” Chisei snickers and hugs him.
“That way I wouldn’t have to use my own merchandise,” Chisei teases. “It’s the best gift ever. Thank you.” Chisei puts an arm around him. “Now let’s go eat all the ramen Koshi made for us and wreak havoc.” Chime puts his arm around Chisei as well and chuckles mischievously.
“Just like old times,” Chime replies. Everyone sits around the table to eat the ramen dinner that Koshi prepared. The three siblings sit next to each other, catching up on everything that happened that year. Koshi sits opposite of them smiling proudly.
“I’m happy to finally see you three reunited,” Koshi tells them. “When I found out who you were…I wanted so much to be there for you guys.” Erii starts to scribble in her notebook to reply.
“We’re glad you’re here <3.” She smiles cheerfully, and she holds her hand out across the table. Koshi rests his hand in hers and gently grasps it. Then Chime and Chisei join in, placing their hands on top of Koshi’s, smiling at him with a gaze of acceptance. Caesar taps his wine glass with a spoon, and everyone turns to look at him. He then raises the glass to make a toast.
“To the Hydras siblings…our new family. Happy birthday and Merry Christmas!” Caesar exclaims.
“Happy Birthday!” Everyone else repeats and takes a sip of wine from their glasses. Finger and Luminous then jump up from their seats and rush to the kitchen. They come out pushing a cart that has an enormous cake on it. The cake is covered in white and red frosting. In green icing, the cake reads, Happy birthday, Chisei, Chime, and Erii. The siblings hold hands after the candles are lit, and once the birthday song is done, they blow out candles together.
NoNo and Johann start to dish out the cake and then Chisei quickly grabs Chime’s hand and pulls him aside into another room, away from everyone else.
“Why did you take me here?” Chime asks innocently.
“You haven’t gotten your gift yet,” Chisei replies. He reaches behind a small coffee table and pulls out a gift bag. “This one is from Erii and I.” Chisei hands it to Chime.
“I…don’t know what to say,” Chime softly says as his eyes start to water and his voice cracks. “I wasn’t expecting anything.”
“Please, open it,” Chisei says earnestly. “Tell me if you like it.” Chime reaches into the bag and pulls out a small red mask, shaped like the one he usually wears, except it has a silver trim and Oni horns.
“A new Kabuki mask?” Chime looks at Chisei with a puzzled look. “I don’t understand.”
“I thought you could use another one, just to switch up your disguise in public,” Chisei grins.
“It’s beautiful. Thank you.”
“It’s yours on two conditions,” Chisei says with a smirk. “One, for now, on…I’d like you to save front-row tickets to your Kabuki performances for Erii and I. I’ll pay full price. And Two…” Chisei stares intently at him. “I want you to move in with us. We want you here so we can finally be a family again.”
Chisei then places a hand on Chime’s shoulder. “Also, I need a business partner for my sunscreen shop,” Chisei teases. “So, what do you say?” Without hesitation, Chime suddenly embraces him and Chisei reciprocates, wrapping his arms around his little brother.
“It’s feels good to be home,” Chime whispers as a tear of joy slides down his cheek and meets his smile.
