Quality - 9.75/10 LeatheCanvas - the canvas material feels really nice, I have an authentic Alma BB in DE, so i was trying to compare the feeling between the two, but i think because the Alma is in DE and this OntheGo bag is Monogram they would feel different regardless? the Canvas has a grainy feel but still smooth, the alma bb feels a bit rougher but still has a smooth appearance. I do not own an authentic monogram bag to compare, so please share your thoughts! (-0.25 for the feeling of the canvas) - the color will be discussed below under accuracy. (Side Note: I really want to order the authentic to compare but I don't have the balls to do so lol) Interior - I compared the two interiors, and they feel and look exactly the same so points for that. Hardware - the Hardware seems to also be spot on at first glance, but I actually went and compared the authentic on my Alma BB to this purse and the Rep is just a *tad* bit more yellow, and I mean just a tiny bit, not noticable whatsoever. Accuracy - 8.5/10 Exterior - the alignment is a bit off, if you compare the PSP or My Photos to the LV website, you can see the top of the pattern is a little bit cut off and the bottom of the bag is also off. Lux Review has photos of the bottom of the bag to compare. (-1) - the print itself is spot on, the logo itself looks identical to the authentic (linked above), the shading and outline looks the same - the color also looks good, the only concern is the lighter side, to me it looks tan, but other images look more orange. Maybe it's just me? I personally like the tan color more than an orange tone. It could just be the lighting of the images themselves. My rep definitely is more on the darker side. - PS does anyone actually walk into the boutique with replicas? Please let me know your experiences lol Interior - the interior velvet shade looks identical to the interior of the authentic alma BB i own. - after reviewing the Luxaholic review (as linked above) I noticed that the stamp on my purse has a "made in France" below the Paris, where the Luxaholic review does not. (-0.25) - there is a tag inside the pocket, but I can't take a good picture of it, it seems to be the time stamp that LV puts inside all of their bags. MASSIVE post from a FTM on the other side of pregnancy :-)
I graduated about 7 weeks ago (oh my gosh, how the time flies!), and since then have been compiling some notes and thoughts to share with you all. So you have some context, I had an unmedicated delivery at a birth center, and LO arrived on her due date after 33 hours of labor. Hard, but totally a positive experience! Hopefully something in this MASSIVE POST is helpful for you! Edit: Added "Consider assigning your SO to your hydration" section. Edit: Added "Dress your LO in whatever you want" section. Edit: THANK YOU for the kind responses & awards! BEFORE LABOR
Don’t stress about the hospital bag - Truly. I did a lot of research and put a lot of thought into my hospital bag (or for me - birth center bag). I hardly used any of it, and I’ve heard similar stories for other people. Feel free to put thought into it and collect things you think you’ll want, but don’t stress about it. People go to the hospital all the time without prepared bags, and it turns out just fine.
Straws - This seems to go against what I just wrote, but if you are packing a birth bag, one thing you might want to include is a straw. This was honestly my most useful item in my bag. I had 2 big straws (think boba-tea size) and it was super helpful for my husband to just be able to hold them to my lips and for me to be able to drink without changing positions while laboring.
Make sure your husband/SO has the right phone numbers in his phone - My husband was the one calling the midwife and coordinating when it was the right time to come in. He had labeled the number in his phone “Midwife - call when in labor” and that was super helpful. If your SO will be helping you with that part, make sure they have the right numbers ahead of time. (Side note: have you seen the Seth Myers standup that touches on this?)
Don’t forget that you’re going to have a baby! - Have you seen the Friends episode where at Rachel’s baby shower she realizes that she only learned about pregnancy and didn’t learn anything about actually caring for a baby? From what I’ve heard, that happens surprisingly often! (And understandably, too! Pregnancy takes a lot of brain space). Make sure to educate yourself at least a little bit about caring for a baby. A lot of hospitals have classes (now virtual, probably). My husband and I went through the Taking Cara Babies online class about newborn sleep, and it was worth every penny. If you’re considering it, I would HIGHLY recommend it.
Trim or shave, if that’s your jam - I haven’t heard this talked about. During your recovery, you will likely be wearing pads. Most women have experienced the pain of having pubic hair stuck to a pad - ouch! If you’re able to and it’s up your alley (and no judgement if it’s not!), you may want to trim or shave sometime leading up to your due date in order to prevent some unwanted sticky situations.
Save some $$ - You may get some gift cards and money gifted to you ahead of time. I’d encourage you to set it aside for surprises and not spend it before the baby comes. You may want to put it toward something you don’t even know yet, like a lactation consultant or biggesmaller warmecooler clothes.
It’s okay to like being pregnant! - There’s a lot of really great support around the hardships of pregnancy, and that’s great! But sometimes I felt like it made it so if I talked about the JOYS of pregnancy, it felt like bragging. So I want to tell those of you who are loving being pregnant that that’s okay too! You don’t need to feel guilty about it. It’s not your fault chance favored you in this way. You can be compassionate toward people not enjoying pregnancy AND also enjoy yours!
DURING LABOR
There are no medals - I remember on a YouTube video, a woman summing up her delivery something like this, “Out in three pushes, no medication, didn’t poop on the table.” In and of itself, all perfectly fine things to share! But the bravado she said it with was a turn off for me. I wanted to encourage you that there’s no scorecard for your labor. It’s not like you lose marks for having it go long, opting for medication, pooping, tearing, or anything else. There are no medals or “perfect scores”, so you do what you need to do to get that baby, and don’t compare yourself to anyone else.
Forget every birth story that isn’t helpful to you - When I was in labor, I remember having fleeting thoughts of people being like, “I guess I was a good pusher, because I just pushed once and she came out!” That was NOT my experience, and dwelling on another woman’s experience would have made me feel like a failure. Similarly, I also remembered women saying, “I pushed for so long and the baby wouldn’t come out, so I had to have a c-section.” If I dwelled on that, it could have really made me fearful. The thoughts were definitely there, so I want to encourage you to forget any birth story that isn’t helpful to you. It has no influence on YOUR story.
Smoothies and snacks - Snaaaaaacks!!! Giving birth burns about the same calories as running a marathon. If it’s okay with the policies of where you’re giving birth, you’ll want to fuel up! Pack EASY CALORIES. We packed Odwalla and Naked juices (that I drank with my aforementioned straw), little sugary energy chews, dried fruit, etc. Try and find stuff that’s high in calories and easy to eat.
Nobody cares if you poop - There’s really not much more to say on this one. I was worried about pooping going into it. When it happened, literally nobody cared - including me! In fact, I was HAPPY because it meant I was pushing correctly. So I promise you that your care providers won’t care at all, and hopefully in the moment, you won’t either. One less thing to stress about. :-)
Nobody cares if you moo - I remember during a birth class it talking about how some women like to moo when they’re in labor, and I thought, “Ha! That’s funny.” THEN in labor when I was on all fours on the floor of the birth center. . . I mooed! Like a deep, guttural moo. And It felt good and helpful. And internally, I laughed and thought, “Ha, that video was right! Look at me mooing.” Which is all to say, do what you need to do.
You can do it - Whatever the “it” is that’s required of you, you can do it. Maybe IT is enduring an unmedicated birth when you were hoping for and epidural. Maybe IT is being flexible and deviating from your birth plan for the health of you and your baby. Maybe IT is pushing so much longer than you expected to. Maybe IT is going through surgery and recovery of a c-section. Whatever your IT is, you can do it, mama! You were built for this!
It will be worth it - I think the first thing I said when I held my baby was, “YOU ARE SO WORTH IT.” It will be worth it. It will be worth it. It will be worth it.
POSTPARTUM
Diapers for you - I can’t recommend enough getting a pack of diapers for YOU. Much more comfortable than the mesh undies they send you home with. I used Always Discreet Boutique AND added a pad. That way I could just change the pad, but if there was overflow, no biggie. Trash the diaper.
ACCEPT HELP - This is the biggest one!!! Accept help. I know we’re in a weird time when everyone is isolated, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t accept help. I’ve had: neighbors bring us toilet paper when we ran out (humbling!), friends bring us meals (this is HUGE!!! See if someone set up a meal train for you if they haven’t already), family do our dishes (our bubble is merged with 2 family members), a friend do a Target run for us when we didn’t have jammies that were small and warm enough, family run errands for us, family do laundry for us (people can pick it up and do it at their house), my SIL (mom of 5!) come over with her baby and give me a breast feeding demonstration and help give me pointers on getting a good latch (you could do this over zoom), family walk our dog, and SO MUCH MORE. A lot of these don’t require people coming into your space. I even kept a mental list of people that said, “Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help!” Then that’s who I reached out to when I needed something. I know when I tell people, "Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!" I MEAN IT. I want to help. So I trust that people are similarly genuine, and I take them up on their offers.
Someone will disappoint you. Don’t let that steal your joy - I have a family member who behaved pretty disappointingly regarding LO (details aren’t important). I’m sure someone will behave disappointingly toward you as well. Decide ahead of time not to let that steal your joy or take up too much brain space. It sucks, it doesn’t make their behavior okay, but it’s bound to happen so think through ahead of time how/if you want to respond. In my case, I chose to let it go, and I’m happy with that choice.
Weight loss is literally different for every body - Some people gain a lot of weight and lose it quickly. Some people gain a little and hold onto it. I’ve gained a lot and have held on to it. (Granted, holiday food hasn’t done me any favors). I just wanted to remind you that every body is different, and all options are okay. Our culture has a weird obsession with trying to make it look like women didn’t give birth. YOU GREW AND BIRTHED A HUMAN. It’s okay if your body looks different because of it.
You (might) sleep - People like to tell you, “sleep now! You won’t sleep after the baby comes!” . . . I slept FINE after the baby came. I woke up every few hours to feed her, but I had good, deep sleep between feedings. It may not be as dire as people make it sound.
You might have an easy transition - You might have a happy and easy transition into motherhood. Just enjoy it. Don’t stress yourself out waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Contact friends before googling - If you have some friends who are moms and further down the road than you, LEAN INTO THEM. I’ve found my texts to them to be SO much more helpful that a Google search. “My baby has baby acne - do you have experience with that?” “My baby is doing XY & Z, any ideas?” etc. You won’t get the fear mungering of WebMD or the paid promotions of websites/blogs. Just genuine, mom to mom advice and experience from people who know you and your situation. If there’s something you’re really concerned about, I’d recommend reaching out to your pediatrician.
Sleeping on stomach - I was unreasonably excited to sleep on my stomach again. Just wanted to let you know that the finish line might be a little farther back than you expect. Right after coming home from the birth center, I was still obviously a little tender, so I slept on my side right on the edge of the bed to make it easy to get in and out to take care of LO. Right around the time I was feeling better physically, my milk came in and I was super engourged. Sleeping on my stomach would have been like sleeping on two bowling balls. But I got there eventually and am now a happy stomach sleeper again! :-)
Don’t buy nursing bras when your breasts are engourged - Not much more to say about this. I made this mistake, and ended up with a few bras that are now too big.
SNACKS - Snacks are the best, especially if your breastfeeding. I found I really liked bananas because I could eat them in the middle of the night while nursing. They were quiet to open, full of calories, and din’t have crumbs that would drop on LO’s head. In the early days, I put a pile of snacks out every night for me to eat during my late night feedings.
Let your SO be a parent - Your SO is just as much your baby’s parent as you are. Unless safety is at stake, let them be a parent in their own way. My husband does pretty much everything differently that I do: dresses her, changes her diaper, rocks her, etc. But he’s enjoying finding his own way in fatherhood, and there’s no need for me to correct him. BONUS is that he watched the same online course as I did, so we have a similar same basic foundation. If there is something I want to tell him, I’ll say, “I learned a cool/helpful/different way to do XY&Z. Do you want to know it?”. He may not want to, and that’s fine too.
Your SO is still a person - It’s easy to be in a fog, but I really try to remember to say thank you to my SO. He’s taking good care of me as I take good care of LO. I say thank you when he exercises the dog, brings me water, does dishes, etc. It costs me nothing, and it means a lot.
Consider assigning your SO to your hydration - You will need to drink a LOT of water, especially if you are breastfeeding. If your SO is up for it, considering assigning them to your hydration. In the early days, my husband was essentially responsible for keeping my water bottles full. I had one bottle by the bed and two where I sit to nurse, and I went through them quickly. It was SO GREAT to have him in charge of that because he had an important and tangible way that he could help me, and it would have been genuinely hard for me to get up and down so much to refill my bottles while a) nursing, and b) still recovering from the birth.
Dress your LO in whatever you want - Somehow, babies know when you put them in a special outfit that you've been saving. . .and that's when they like to explode with spit-up and/or poop. DON'T SAVE OUTFITS. If there's a cute outfit you're excited to dress your baby in, DO IT. Don't save it for Christmas morning or when you're going to do a zoom call with grandma. Dress your LO in whatever you want, whenever you want. If you start her in a favorite outfit early, you might even be able to get a couple of wears out if it before she grows out of it. If you save it for the perfect moment, there's a chance the outfit will only last 20 minutes before an explosion of some sort, and then she'll grow out of it before she can wear it again. They are only a certain size for so long. Don't waste time on clothes you don't like while clothes you love are an option.
Safety vs. sanity - You will have times the you will be prompted to choose between safety and sanity. For us, it’s every time we drive because our LO only calms down in the car seat once we get going fast, so every time we drive I’m tempted to speed unreasonably. I’m not sure what your choice will be (unsafe sleeping conditions? something else?) but I can guarantee the choice is coming. Just a heads up so you can think through it ahead of time and recognize it when it arrives.
Postpartum symptoms - There are so many “11 Things Nobody Told You About Postpartum” blog posts. That’s because, as with pregnancy, there is a grab bag of a million different symptoms you COULD have. Nobody knows what combination you will have. I had the VERY sexy combination of night sweats and uncontrollable flatulence. Jealous? ;-) You’ll have some other combination. Just wanted to say that it’s likely all within the realm of normal. THAT BEING SAID, if your grab bag happens to contain the (very normal!) postpartum symptoms of PPD/PPA, there’s literally no shame in getting help. There’s nothing wrong with you as a person or a mama, those are just the symptoms you happened to pull out of the bag. Talk to a friend or (even better) your doctor. Motherhood is hard enough without the added emotional distress.

Hey everyone. I've recently gone through a manic phase of cold emailing and managed to set up a few coffee chats (I'm in a country with very few Covid cases) with some senior people (Directors and MDs) in boutique corporate advisory/AM/PE firms. I've generally been able to set up 15-30 minutes with each individual, and structured my initial email as a "I'm looking to learn from your experience in XYZ industry and hear about your time on certain transactions" rather than an "I'm looking for a job." The goal is to learn as much as I can, build a network, and hopefully land an internship with one of these firms. What's the best way to make a good impression in such a short time-frame (15-30 mins), and maximize the odds of landing a role? Considering these are all boutique firms, the people I'm talking to essentially own the company. Many of them don't have formal recruitment processes (at least not via their website), so it's a bit hard to apply after having a coffee with them. Would it be best to just have a normal conversation about their work for the first 12-25 minutes, then near the end ask them if there's any potential roles available with their firm? Or is it poor etiquette to outright ask? Would it be best to mention you'd be willing to work unpaid? Curious to hear other people's words who have worked in boutiques before and been hired through informal routes (i.e. not through an online application).

A very personal thread about this story and why I increasingly believe addressing the rot caused by QAnon will be one of the Biden administration’s most important and most difficult tasks. There are thousands of meme queens across the country. Let me introduce you to another one – my former best friend. We grew up together, were inseparable throughout high school, drove to school together every morning, went on vacations with each other’s families. Sometimes i went to church with her family and sometimes she came to church with mine. We were in each other’s weddings. She graduated from a good college and went into finance. She didn’t like it much. She moved to California with her husband, went to nursing school and became a delivery nurse. She loved it. She had a baby, and then had two more. But she had a difficult time finding reliable childcare, and not being near any family, she found it increasingly impossible to juggle work and children. She left her job and began selling women’s clothing through LulaRoe – one of those pyramid scheme-like companies that’s very good at duping SAHMs into opening their own online boutique. As often happens with childhood friends, we drifted apart. This happened increasingly quickly after she moved to California. But as is also the case with childhood best friends, we stayed in touch via text, especially for birthdays and at holidays. She has never been active politically, but the 2016 election stirred something in her. She proudly posted that she was part of the “Never Clinton” cabal. But she never posted about being pro-Trump. In fact, I don’t think she liked him much at the time, or even voted for him. It happened very slowly at first. The Facebook and Instagram posts were only semi-offensive and far and few between. I had the privilege of being able to shrug it off. Besides, I had a lot going on too – a new baby and demanding job, thousands of miles away. But then came the pizzagate posts, the posts about the Clintons, Obamas, Gates and others running a pedophile ring, eating babies. Lots of pro-life posts and warnings about child trafficking. Whatever was happening to her intensified dramatically in March and April of 2019, around the time that the coronavirus shuttered schools and businesses across the U.S. The posts became angry, racist and more and more bizarre. Photos “proving” Michelle Obama is a man, explainers about Bill Gates trying to change our DNA through vaccinations, full on COVID-19 denial. Suddenly she was professing to be a patriot fighting for our country, began worshiping President Trump and reposting memes disparaging Joe Biden, his family and other Democrats. What threw me off the most was just how angry and mean she was being. I’ve always tried to maintain a firewall between my career as a reporter and the politics of family and friends. That’s something I’m actively reassessing after what’s transpired these last 10 months. I flagged almost everything she posted to Instagram as false through the site’s reporting system, but never confronted her personally. Her account was temporarily frozen a handful of times, so I know others were reporting her too. She always came back, meaner, angrier and more sure that she was on the right side of history. Things came to a head for me personally on Friday, when she posted memes supporting the rioters and the insurrection, posted images of a militarized Washington, DC, and made references to future, imminent attacks. I messaged her that what she was posting was disgusting and dangerous, that this city is my family’s home and that the person I knew her to be was better than this. I wasn’t expecting an apology or a change in heart. I didn’t have any grand illusions of rekindling a friendship and driving off into the sunset for a girls weekend. But I certainly wasn’t expecting the wrath of hate the spewed my way within three seconds of messaging her. “Just you wait,” she fired back. “I know exactly what’s happening. Sad you don’t.” “And don’t for one second say you know [me],” she wrote. “I tried to keep you but there was just nothing left between us. I’m sorry you have no idea what’s happening but your precious Biden will be behind bars.” ”Did you know the inauguration is canceled? Did you know the insurrection act was signed 1/9? Do you know how many assassination attempts have been made on OUR president in the last 4 years? Do you know that the riots were planned by BLM AND ANTIFA?” “Did you know that the election was stolen by the Vatican and 5 other huge key players?” “You think your [SIC] a journalist but you are just as brainwashed as the people watching MSM.” ”STAY HOME. DONT GO TO WORK. KEEP YOUR KIDS HOME. YOUR CITY IS GOING TO BE A WARZONE.” There’s more, but you get the idea. I didn’t argue. I knew immediately how far gone she was. I wrote, “I love you,” and then she blocked me on all social media. If you’re reading this and you think you don’t have friends and family this is happening to, I promise you’re wrong. Check in with the people you love, make sure they’re doing ok. I also want to thank reporters like @BrandyZadrozny @oneunderscore__ and others, whose meticulous reporting on the dark corners of the Internet is something everyone should have been giving much more attention. I don’t know how the Biden administration solves this. I really don’t. I don’t know if they can. Is it even their problem to solve? But hope is a thing with feathers that perches in the soul, and I will always hope to get my friend back.
GME DD - Background and experience of new leadership

New leadership
Cohen founded Chewy in 2011. Chewy is is an American online retailer of pet food and other pet-related products. “The company hired former employees and executives from Amazon, PetSmart, Whole Foods Market, and Wayfair.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chewy_(company)#History) In 2017, Cohen was preparing Chewy to go public when PetSmart and PetCo got into a bidding war over it. Ultimately he sold to PetSmart for $3.35 billion in 2017, the largest ecommerce acquisition at the time. He scaled Chewy from nothing to online sales and nation-wide distribution. He outlines his guiding business principles here: https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/349890. He took notes from Bezos’ letter to Amazon shareholders as a roadmap for how to grow Chewy. I’m a software engineer, I’ve read those notes, I work in cloud stuff. This dude fucking knows what advice to take. He knows how to scale, he knows how to grow, and starting an ecommerce site in 2011 when Amazon’s net annual revenue was already $48 billion (https://blog.pipecandy.com/amazon-market-share/). In other words, getting into ecommerce in 2011 was fucking insane, and he still pulled it off, because he saw what Amazon wasn’t doing, and, combined with his principles and the staff he hired, was able to develop a strategy and execute from nothing to a $3.35 billion acquisition inside 6 years. After Cohen sold to PetSmart, PetSmart spun out Chewy into an IPO in 2019 at a valuation of $15 billion. PetSmart was smart enough to not fuck with Chewy’s formula and still holds a majority stake. Chewy’s formula was Cohen’s formula. After Chewy, he took a sabbatical to figure out his next leadership play. He picked GameStop. In September 2020, his investment firm started buying GME. By November 21, 2020, the firm had built up a 9.98% stake (https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/20/former-chewy-ceo-ryan-cohen-urges-gamestop-to-become-the-amazon-of-video-games.html). In December, he fucking bought more (https://www.barrons.com/articles/gamestop-investor-ryan-cohen-buys-more-stock-51608836334), 2.5 million shared at $14.80 (totaling $37MM). Their stake sits at 12%. Cohen is an activist investor. He wants companies he buys into to make fundamental changes to become more profitable. His business model is inverted from brick-and-mortar. Brick-and-mortar understood stores but didn’t see ecommerce coming, and failed miserably to adapt. Now their backends are licensed, not first-party like Amazon. Cohen’s model for Chewy was ecommerce first, and develop a brick-and-mortar presence that actually makes sense. Cohen doesn’t invest in what he doesn’t believe in. Go back and read his principles. Here’s the most relevant one:
My father was never looking to make a quick buck. He had no interest in material possessions. Every year, through thick and thin, he invested his savings into the stock market. He believed the real money was made through time in the market, not timing the market. When I was 13, he gave me a chart comparing real estate to stock market returns since the 1920s. Real estate annualized returns were around 4 percent, and the stock market was around 9 percent. It didn’t take long for me to figure out which I preferred. I’ve been investing ever since. My father never invested in any fancy funds or paid management fees. He bought blue chip companies and held them forever. His 20-year annualized stock returns were over 10 percent. He never borrowed money or paid interest. As we scaled Chewy, many advised us to slow down and raise prices. We disagreed. Key to our success was obsessing over customers and market leadership. Furthermore, Ryan pointed out how Amazon has chinks in its armor due to a flood of third-party sponsored merchandise pushing aside organic search results and pushing aside best-selling products. Ryan states how he wants to be involved with a product that connects with customers emotionally. Certainly, as evidenced by the massive rise in e-sports, video games unquestionably connect with an enormous segment of the population.

In the articles, he talks about his history as an entrepreneur. You really need to read it to get an idea of how solid this guy’s fundamentals are. He’s been hustling since 13, going door-to-door selling build-your-local-business-website services to people. His dad was an entrepreneur, he absorbed his dad’s (moral, ethical, and humane) business philosophies over the years, and used hustle and knowledge to turn billions. Cohen is no slouch. He knows how to find opportunities that align with his experience and resources, and knows how to turn it around.
GME's current status
GameStop’s been failing because they don’t know what to do. They’re not evolving, but Cohen’s been getting involved since September. In October, GameStop announced a deal with Microsoft:
[GameStop] also said that it has expanded its Xbox product offerings to include Xbox All Access, which provides players with an Xbox console and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to players with no upfront cost; both parties will get ongoing revenue from the subscription-based business, although no terms were announced.
“While the move signals GameStop’s importance in selling consoles, particularly as Microsoft has closed its own stores, this is all about driving customers into Microsoft’s ecosystem, not necessarily into GameStop’s,” Sigman writes. “The profit share helps but may not be incremental versus lost sales/profit from the shift to digital. And, more digital also still means less preowned [games], the largest profit and loyalty driver [for GameStop].”
Two super important things here. First, Cohen doesn’t give a shit about preowned. Analysts are saying the deal doesn’t help GameStop’s core business model, but Cohen is in there saying the core business model is unsustainable and needs to change. Second, and far more importantly, Cohen doesn’t care if his business lures people into another company’s business. GameStop and Microsoft aren’t competitors, the same way Chewy wasn’t competing with PetSmart. Chewy was online pet food, PetSmart was physical retail. They were complimentary. Cohen is making the same play here, but on the other side of the fence, on the physical retail side, now working backwards to an online presence that makes sense for GameStop. And Microsoft needs better of fucking both. So where does GameStop stand here? Dying physical retail business model (selling used games) with an activist investor-now-board-member. He brought his friends from Chewy with him. “Along with Cohen, Alan Attal and Jim Grube are joining the GameStop board. Both men worked with Cohen at Chewy.” https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-01-11/gamestop-soars-with-activist-ryan-cohen-gaining-board-seats). This is LeBron, Wade, and Bosh invading the Miami Heat all over again. They’re bringing their gold rings this time, though. ““We are excited to bring our customer-obsessed mindset and technology experience to GameStop and its strategic assets,” Cohen said in a statement Monday.” Getting involved in GameStop is like getting involved in Chewy as if Chewy was brick-and-mortar and had a weak online presence. Cohen doesn’t just know ecommerce, he knows ecommerce in the context of physical retail. This has been his bag for a decade, and he sees a Chewy that can be fixed. GME’s deal with Microsoft is logical. With Cohen, Microsoft is now to GameStop what PetSmart was to Chewy. Microsoft currently has both weak physical retail and weak ecommerce. They’re getting ripped up on all sides, physical retail by Apple, BestBuy and WalMart, ecommerce by Apple, Dell, and Amazon. Microsoft does sometimes make great stuff, but sucks at selling it. Cohen has the experience to build up GameStop’s ecommerce and potentially do for gamers what he did for pet owners. From that perspective, GameStop is currently a steal of an investment for Cohen, and he wants to capitalize not just by investing in the strategy, but actually executing it. The shorts don’t see this. They see GME is still GME and are trying to profit on the console cycle spike. The problem is, anyone long should stay long because Cohen and friends, with experience and already establishing strategic partnerships, are looking to turn a business around into the Chewy for video games. Through Chewy, they took on Amazon and made out with $3.35 billion. Valve is their new Amazon, and they’re starting with GameStop, which is effectively already half of Chewy, with physical stores and ecommerce. The other half is making those two components strong, and it’s already making deals to do that. Short term, the shorts may get squeezed and the stock shoots up, but it could just be a spike and not a permanent jump in value. Even if it is just a spike, Cohen is in it for the long term, which means even if the shorts win in the next few months, I sincerely suspect long GME to still make money. How much? Let's talk about X factors first.
X factors
The pandemic is a factor, affecting incomes, and games are a luxury. You have to feed your pets, you don’t have to buy video games. The Fed could continue to print money. We started with $600 checks, and it’s gone UP to $1,400, when in the fuck does the government ever start shelling out more cash unless shit’s bad? We could start seeing an abrupt, seismic shift in how the government handles basic income. This makes things very complicated for the next 12 months, especially because we don’t even have trend numbers for Cohen’s strategy (whatever it is). One big X factor is Valve Software. They pretty much own online game sales, but they don’t have a brick-and-mortar presence, and Cohen, unlike Jeff Bezos, is actually human and gives a fuck about his customers. He wants to connect emotionally with them, with a business based on a strong ecommerce platform and strategy, and Valve doesn’t have any kind of digital partnership with Microsoft - GameStop does. Valve is private. Their annual revenue in 2017 is estimated to be $4.3 billion. Microsoft’s FY20 revenue: $143 billion, literally +30x higher. Lots of things are clouding GME right now: pandemic, console cycle spike, new leadership, pivoting business model, institutional investors shorting out like fucking robots, inking deals with the enemy’s enemy (Microsoft) who has 10x the resources as GME’s enemy (Valve). I think this uncertainty, combined with investors institutionalized against GME, means that getting in now will mean a super rocky road for the next 12 months, with a high potential for at least some gains.
GME's gain/loss potential
This is why the Microsoft deal for GameStop makes sense. Microsoft has the resources to take on Valve, and they just may be dipping their toes into such a venture through GameStop now that GameStop has board members with real, successful track records in occupying both spaces. Remember, GameStop’s online sales have jumped 308% last quarter. Yes, new console cycle helps, but Cohen’s track record, analysis, and patience means he’s looking at more than just the cycle. Again, how much gain? Look at all these factors. People on here saying 10x, flopping their dicks out with “$1000” written on them as if the shorts will ever be that desperate in the next two weeks while still buying $40c and thinking $469 will happen this year. I don’t think 10x is reasonable, but I see gains both short and long. Going purely on Cohen and fam’s track record, GME’s current position with deals, free cash flow, and assets, my gut says $120 this time next year. The real test is after all this short squeeze bullshit. It could rocket and never come back, but even if it craters, Cohen bought in for about an average of $17, so you can be that he’s not gonna want to just break even. What kind of long term growth? We actually have a few numbers to give a reasonable estimate. PetSmart bought Chewy for $3.35 billion in May 2017. In March 2018, Cohen steps down from CEO of Chewy, so he was still running the show while under PetSmart (https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20180314006310/en/PetSmart-Announces-Leadership-Transition-at-Chewy). PetSmart then took Chewy public with a valuation of $15 billion in April 2019. The growth, I suspect, was likely due to PetSmart not messing with the internal formula Cohen developed for Chewy. If that’s true, then his strategy still grew Chewy by 4.47x, in a shade under than 2 years.
Potential GME strategies
MS acquires GME. This would be like Apple getting in retail not from zero but by buying a small boutique electronics outlet that already sold heavy on Apple stuff. GME does brick and mortar, MS owns and runs a cloud platform that GME can use for ecommerce, and MS gets back into the retail game with people who actually know how to run it.
Valve and GME team up. Who acquires who? Hard to say, but Valve does like them some hardware, and people like to try before they buy. GameStop already sells Valve hardware, and Valve, similar to Amazon in 2011, owns game ecommerce. GameStop could be acquired by Valve the way Chewy was acquired by PetSmart. Or the other way around. They’re currently valued similarly in market cap, if estimates of Valve’s private valuation are to be believed.
GME simply competes for market share with a more complete video game sales solution and remains independent and publicly traded. GME has both online retail and physical retail, making GME the publicly-traded version of Valve, but with a complete online and physical retail presence. This makes sense. GME is doing probably about as well as Valve, with GME FY20 revenue at $6.4 billion. Again, Valve is private, but 2017 estimate is annual revenue of $4.3 billion. They’re comparable, but GameStop already has stores, and Cohen knows how to use them, while backing it with strong online retail. In other words, GameStop looks kind of like a Valve that’s having trouble figuring out brick-and-mortar. Fix GameStop’s online retail, which Coehn can do because he already built it once from scratch, and also realign physical retail, which Cohen saw as PetSmart absorbed Chewy.
Cohen sees opportunities, and there are multiple exit strategies. Simply fix a failing company into a success, merge with a partner, or be bought by the competition.
Tl;dr: GME's strong long term potential could float a YOLO on the squeeze.
Cohen and fam know what’s up with online retail and physical retail. They’ve done this before, GameStop is a broken version of his previous, successful business that he wants to turn around into successful again. Personally, there’s a risk of FOMO with this squeeze, but even if GME drops to $20 again, I believe you can at least break even if you hold for a year or two because of who’s in charge, what he and his team have done, and how things can grow. If you can afford to go long, it’s not unreasonable to YOLO what you can afford to go long with in case this squeeze continues. Even if it drops, it looks like there’s long upside, and if you lose $50k this week, you might still be able to pull back $100k in 18 months. I kept up with WSB the last several days because the GME hype drew me in. The squeeze analysis here has been a fucking sight to see (not the coordination, ffs guys, aggro the SEC harder why don’t you?), but I believe that, even if the shorts are right, I believe the longs are also right, and it will require the most diamond of hands. I know WSB is all about big gains in only two or three days’ time. Despite positing that GME is good long, this analysis actually argues that even if the bears are right, the bulls are more right, and a long position could float a YOLO on the squeeze. Got $50k you can afford to go long for a year? You could get in now and it’s likely that, at the very least, even if this drops to $20 this month, the long term growth could still give you your money back. If the squeeze Plutos even only to $100 this month, then shut the fuck up, get your $138k-in-a-week tendies and go fuck your wife’s bf. If it dives again, put that $138k back in, put your wife’s bf on hold, and pull back another 2x in 12 months. In other words, everything taken into account, GME long term growth, which is very plausible, could see you through any YOLO bet anyone makes on this squeeze, even if the shorts don’t break. YOLO a squeeze now at $36.50 for potentially a quick and lucky 4x. Even if it drops back to $20 after this squeeze, the 45% you just lost is likely to come back, plus more, under Cohen’s team’s leadership in a year or two, because they’re in it for the long haul to revamp GME, and are capable of doing so. All things considered, in light of my research, I think a conservative 2x upside in 12 months is not unreasonable, and it could finance a bet on the squeeze this week. I don't know for sure and nobody does, but I think the leadership is the most solid foundation you could possibly hope for in long plays. If you’re fine with staying long on whatever you put in, then it might be a good idea to get in now and experiment with this squeeze. Diamond hands or whatever.

1/8/2021 – He sends me PSPs (he also ends up using what I’m positive was my specific bag to show a video of this colomodel/size on his IG, which I was all about because it meant I wasn’t about to get some crap). I ask him to show a picture with the handle in the front to make sure it falls correctly. He obliges and it looks good, so I GL.
1/10/2021 – I reach out asking for a tracking number and he sends me a FedEx number
1/14/2020 – Bag starts its tracking in Dubai

CCW PLEASE!!! This is my first review and I know your eagle eyes will see things I can’t!
Bag came with full packaging (including a Chanel shopping bag), which was not needed but a wonderful surprise for sure!
Leather is supple and has a beautiful sheen to it. It certainly didn’t need to be conditioned, but I went ahead and lathered it in some Saphir Universal Cream because, why not?
Bag is squishy but still structured, which makes for an elegant look I love (even though it’s a more casual bag)
OMG FUFU CITY!!! Nearly 2 weeks later, still got that stinky stink. Even my husband was like YO BAG STINKS! I’m assuming it’ll go away over time but still a bit of a bummer (-0.1)
The leather at the top of the handle is very very stiff, almost like they put something between the leather pieces to make it more structured and it doesn’t have the smooth “smile” look. My 187 26cm has a much nicer look, not gonna lie. I’m hoping this will get broken in with use (-0.2)
Chains came really squeaky but I treated it with the Saphir Universal Cream and the noise went away and has not come back. Handle has a tiny amount of squeak, but it’s metal on metal. Not deducting points

Color matches what I saw online and in the Chanel boutique. It’s on the shinier end, so if you like the more matte look, this is not that. FWIW, the beige is shinier in the auth than the black.
Strap drop length is 1 inch short. Everything I’ve seen online says between 17” and 17.5” drop on the 30cm model. I tried to stretch the handle as far as possible and even then, the best I can get is like maybe 16.5.” This is a HUGE bummer for me because now I can’t unsee it (-1.0)

Overall bag measurements match what Chanel’s site lists
Hardware matches in color IMO and is placed perfectly on the bag. The CC gold is pretty gold, while the handle looks a little more brushed, which matches the auth. I can't speak to whether the color gold on the plating on the interior is exactly the same as the auth though, but I will say it's crisp and clearly labeled.
The leather is correctly woven through the chain and is doubled up in the same way it is in the auth
The interior of the bag matches similar bags on Fashionphile in both color and texture and the interior logo is crisp.
Alignment is perfect with the quilts aligning on the sides and through the back but not perfectly aligned to the base of the bag. This is consistent with the quilt alignment on the auth
Shape of the bag is definitely structured (for a Chanel 19). Now I've seen auths that have this structure and others that are more poofy and slouchy. I won't deduct points here because I've seen both variations in the auth (online and IRL) and it's what was shown in the factory photos, but if you like the poofy/slouchy version, this is not the one for you

The reason I’m deducting .5 is that damn strap drop length is driving me up a wall. My husband’s attitude is that if I really really want a true 1:1 I should just go buy the authentic. He’s right and I do need to get over myself because there is no way on God’s green earth that I am shelling out 5 grand on a bag. Instead, I took that 5 grand and am having a custom closet installed so I can showcase all my beautiful bags (installation scheduled for Valentine’s Day!). Better use of funds, my friends. *** ## **Seller Communication and Service – 1000000/10** I would like to take a moment to extol the virtues of Non-TS Tony. He is knowledgeable, helpful, very responsive and a great resource for us rep lovers. His customer service is unparalleled and I love working with him as much as I can. Now, he can be more expensive than other sellers (like, I would never buy 187 from him because he charges like $100 more than Heidi), but as we all know from the rep game, better customer service is often worth the cost. Assuming you're reading this because you would like to wear rings and currently don't, here's a quick FAQ.
Materials?
Most common precious metals used in jewelry are silver, gold, platium and variations thereof. You will rarely find pure metal jewelry, reason being that 100% silvegold is actually soft and will warp and become damaged with little effort. The most common alloys for jewelry are:
Stainless Steel: what your kitchen cutlery is made of. Marketed as a cheap alternative to silver.
Sterling Silver / .925 silver: 92.5% pure silver mixed with another metal, commonly copper.
Yellow Gold: (usually) an alloy of gold and some other material, preserving the yellow colour of the gold.
Rose Gold: An alloy of gold, copper and some white metal e.g. silver. The copper gives the metal a rosy tint.
White Gold: An alloy of gold and a white metal e.g. silver. Personally I don't see the appeal when silver is 1/10th the price.
Karats?
When buying jewelry it's important to know what the precious metal content is (or whether it's made of precious metal at all) as this plays a huge part in the quality of the jewelry and how much you should expect to pay. Sterling silver is the benchmark for quality silver. Sometimes referred to as .925 silver, sterling silver is 92.5% silver by weight. The vast majority of silver jewelry is made of sterling silver - anything new that doesn't specify the quality (.925 / sterling, .999 / fine / pure) is of dubious quality and should be avoided. Gold content is measured in karats. The scale goes from 0 to 24, with 1 karat being 1 part gold to 23 parts other material. Therefore, 16K gold is 50% pure gold and 24K gold is pure gold. The karat rating for white gold or rose gold is the same - 18K gold and 18K white gold contain the same amount of gold but the gold is alloyed with different materials to change the colour of the resulting alloy. Metal alloys are generally much harder and resistant to wear. A higher percentage of pure precious metal is not necessarily better or more desirable.
Plating?
Plated jewelry is made from a material coated with a very thin layer of the specified metal. Plated metal is much cheaper than pure metal or an alloy. The material beneath the plating is usually copper, nickel, brass or silver. Jewelry from fast-fashion stores like H&M are generally made of copper or nickel plated with silver or gold. Vermeil is a restricted term for a specific kind of plating. Whilst plating can be done to any metal with any plate thickness, vermeil is always silver plated with a layer of gold at least 2.5 microns thick. Be cautious with plated jewelry. The price makes it very attractive but there are down-sides:
The plating has a tendency to rub off over time, ruining the appearance of your formerly-gold/silver jewelry.
The exposed metal may cause side effects:
Some people are allergic to nickel and will develop a rash.
Copper has a tendency to turn your skin green for a few days.
What should I buy?
Only buy pieces that speak to you. Think of jewelry like a tattoo. It's expensive, you're likely to keep it for a long time and wear it regardless of the rest of your outfit. If you're not sure whether you like a given piece your money would be better spent on something else. If you're not comfortable wearing it that's a lot of money left sat on your dresser.
Start simple. When making a big change in your wardrobe it's good to take it easy. Try a few small, simple pieces first e.g. a couple of stacking bands or a plain signet ring.
More is more. A single piece of jewelry will stand out in a bad way. The consenus from the jewelry thread was that it takes a few pieces to appear intentional and blend into an outfit. The sweet spot is 3-5 pieces total - less if you're wearing only one type, e.g. max. 3 rings, more if you're mixing it up e.g. 2 rings, a bracelet and a chain.
Sterling silver is king. IMO stainless steel does not look good in real life. It may look exactly like silver in the photos but trust me, when you place it side-by-side with silver it looks cheap. Stainless steel is duller, has a gray-tone and brushed-metal surface. It's a hardy material that's very resistant to scratches and wear. Sterling silver on the other hand is much brighter, can be polished smooth or oxidized to add detail and develops a patina over time. Gold is nice but it's very expensive. Mixing metals is hard to pull off so if you buy gold you may feel limited in terms of choice and price when buying future pieces.
Feel free to ignore this advice. If you want gold jewelry, go for it. If you want to wear more rings than you have fingers don't let me stop you. There are no rules - this is just advice for those who are dipping their toes into jewelry for the first time.
Sizing?
It can be difficult to size jewelry, particulary if you're doing it yourself. Here's some methods you can use ordered by ease/accuracy:
Use a ring sizer at home. Nowadays they make plastic ring sizers and many online brands will ship you one for free or low-cost. IMO this is the best way to take your ring size but watch a guide or two on YouTube to make sure you get it right.
Use a cloth tape measure. Take a measurement of your finger in mm using a flexible tape measure and use a size chart to convert to your desired scale.
Use your existing rings as a guide. If you know the size of your current rings (or you're sizing for a friend or partner who knows theirs) you're pretty set. I bought a thumb ring for my girlfriend for Christmas and compared her current thumb ring to one of mine to get an idea of size. When it turned up it was slightly smaller than expected but still fit.
Have a professional jeweler size you. You can ask a jeweler to measure your fingers in-store though you may be uncomfortable doing this if you don't intend to purchase anything. Alternatively, try some pieces on and note what size they are if they're a good fit.
Go to the showroom and let them measure you or try the pieces in-store. The most accurate if you're buying a specific brand. Obviously only an option if you live or travel nearby.
Pay to have the ring resized. If the ring is too large any jeweler will be able to resize it for you. It's more difficult/expensive to size a ring up, especially if it has details the whole way round. If in either doubt size up, make sure they have a good returns policy or don't buy.
Sizing Tips
Remember that each of your fingers is a different ring size. The fingers on your dominant hand will be thicker than the fingers on your non-dominant hand. The size of your fingers changes depending on the temperature so rings that are loose when it's warm may fall off when it's cold or vice-versa. When measuring at home take a few measurements in different rooms, inside / outside or at different times of day to get an accurate measurement. If you're not fussed about which finger the ring will sit on, measure a few candidate fingers of similar size (±1) and order a ring in the size between. If the ring arrives and it's too large / small then wear it on the larger / smaller finger.
Where to buy?
Online: I buy most of my jewelry online. Most designers have an instagram presence and online store. Check the tagged photos on their instagram accounts for inspiration. The more mass-produced brands will have sales on holidays e.g. Christmas or Black Friday.
Independent retailers: Your city may have an area with lots of independent designers / craftspeople / markets - you're likely to find a lot of unique pieces here and physical locations for the designers listed below.
Thrift: You may have some luck at thrift stores or second-hand / charity / pawn shops. In some cities there are second-hand stores that only sell jewelry.
Grailed et al.: The more popular brands (e.g. The Great Frog) will appear on places like grailed or eBay.
On the high street: You're unlikely to find men's jewelry in high street retail / department stores. Most of the jewelry is very delicate and targeted toward women or married couples (wedding bands). The stuff you do find will be relatively inoffensive bands and signet rings.
Designers
So you want a ring but you don't know where to look. Great! See the gallery for general inspo and check out the list of designers below. I've tried to categorize the list to make it easier to find the kind of rings you're interested in. If you have suggestions for more designers please let me know in the comments. Most designers will produce other types of jewelry e.g. chains, bracelets, necklaces, pendants in a similar style.
Simple Rings
Small-to-medium size rings with plain or very simple designs. Stacking bands, signet rings, rings with a single motif like a chain, feather, nail etc.
Silver-plated brass rings with unique designs offering a cheap entry point into jewelry. Occasionally do sterling-silver variants of popular designs. Bit of a weird "community" drop-based Instagram presence.
Huge. Impractical. Outrageously large, really, gigantic. Some of the most unique jewelry I've seen, for better or worse.
Natural Rings
Various-sized rings with designs or textures inspired by nature. Think flowing water, rock formations, gemstones, emphasis on natural wear and tear. The counterpoint to industrial's man-made aesthetic.
Not a designer per se, but a reseller of other designers similar to ssense. Grungy, big industrial/nature inspired rings. A good place to follow to get inspiration; stocks many of the designers on this list.
.999 fine silver / gold rings in simple designs. Due to the softness of fine / pure metals the ring will tarnish and warp creating a unique, highly personal piece of jewelry.

Wild sci-fi designs often contrasting clean, melting chrome-like sections with heavily oxidized, distressed parts. Distribution outside Japan extremely limited.
Biker Rings
Big fuck-off rings for letting everyone know you ride a Harley Davidson, play in a rock band and do a lot of drugs.
Detailed, medium-sized rings under various themes - western, nautical, nature. I find a lot of their designs to be tacky but they have some simpler pieces I've considered purchasing.
Lots of unique designs, although some of them seem to be lifted from The Silver Stone or vice-versa (particularly the goat and branch rings). Not sure what to think but I grabbed this from the streetwear list.
Big rings made of marble with some silver / gold elements. Design inspired by the macabre - lots of skulls, skeletons and dead things. Infamous for their dick ring. I have yet to any of their pieces pulled off outside of their lookbooks. Please share any everyday fits you find with me so I can justify buying one of their pieces.
A bit of a bizarre one. While most designers focus on traditional jewelry, Good Art makes a lot of... things. Chapstick caps, AirPod cases, corkscrews and smoking pipes.
Probably the most famous jewelry designer in the world. You may be tempted to write them off as over-priced and over-hyped but (as a biased Tiffany-bracelet owner) I have to admit that the quality is incredibly high. Their silver pieces are rhodium-plated and there is a noticeable difference in the durability and brightness of my Tiffany bracelet vs. other silver jewelry I own. Edit: I can't actually find any evidence that their silver is rhodium-plated. It's important to do your research before buying things!
Big rings inspired by Asia. Lots of small stones and inlays. One of the more successful designers with physical locations in tons of major cities / malls.
I suppose you might consider these to be rings for classic menswear. Signet rings with marble or some other opaque stone, elegant bands. Some outrageously intricate signets with fuckton of stones and sky-high prices to match.
All sorts of vintage jewelry from across the spectrum.
Custom Signet Rings
Signet rings were traditionally engraved with a design and worn on the pinky finger. You would use the signet to stamp and seal letters with your personal insignia in wax.

Icanic Brands. (ICAN on the CSE in Canada; ICNAF on the OTCQB in the U.S.) Industry: Cannabis C.E.O.: Brandon Kou WHY WE LOVE IT The story of Icanic Brands is a compelling one to tell because it is very simple and easy to understand. You don’t need to be an industry expert or an investing guru to find the glaringly obvious value in a company that still, miraculously, remains fairly undiscovered. You do, however, need to be a student of recent history. Let’s begin with a (very short) skip back in time with a sector that people, one way or the other, have strong opinions on: the cannabis industry. While we are at it, let’s start in Canada, America’s friendly weed-pioneering neighbours to the north. Back in 2015, Justin Trudeau and his Liberal Party swept aside the Conservatives to take a somewhat surprising majority government. How did Canadians celebrate the following day? Why, they bought cannabis stocks of course! You see, Trudeau had included, in his list of Liberal-thinking campaign promises, a vow to legalize cannabis. Not just decriminalize it, but make it fully legal. As the election neared, the value of the first moving companies in the space like Canopy Growth (OTCBQ: CGC, TSE: WEED), which was called Tweed at the time, and Aurora Cannabis (NYSE: ACB, TSE: ACB) saw very nice gains, which only picked up steam as Trudeau settled into the job. It didn’t happen overnight, but on October 17th, 2018, Canadians were fully within their legal rights to purchase cannabis products. The stock charts of companies like Canopy and Aurora looked like rapidly expanding mountain ranges, with Canopy topping out at $62.75, roughly 40x pre-Trudeau values. And it wasn’t just the big producers. Boutique companies sprouted up everywhere, enriched by the sunlight of government approval. It was the best of times. It was also a manic bubble based on fear of missing out (FOMO) instead of actual fundamentals, but who could blame investors? Afterall, there were no previous revenue numbers to compare to this massive legal rollout. Well, investor mania rarely, if ever, ends well, and most people know how this ended. The companies’ stock prices valiantly held on until early spring 2019 before the floor fell out. By March of 2020, Canopy had fallen to under $18.00 CDN, and it had actually been one of the better managed companies. Many competitors did far worse, and dozens of the “boutiques” went out of business completely. Cannabis ETFs fell up to 70%. The reason wasn’t complicated, at least in hindsight. The companies simply didn’t make enough profit. Their margins were very low, due to competition in the space, not only from licensed competitors, but also from black market distributors who, being unregulated, could undercut their legal cousins. There were other reasons for the fall from grace, including governmental restrictions on advertising and slow provincial rollouts, but in the end, the low profit margins proved to be the biggest culprit. Fast forward to today and The United States is on the same inevitable path to legalization. President Biden and the Democrats made a campaign promise to pass The MORE Act (It’s a mouthful… Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act), which, among other things, would decriminalize cannabis at the federal level and leave it up to the individual states to decide to legalize. By the way, four more states did just that already this month. About one-third of Americans now live in a fully cannabis-legalized state. Now that Democrats control the Senate, they can finally pass the previously rejected 2019 SAFE Banking Act, which allows cannabis companies to work freely with the big banks. The result? Big cannabis stocks have nearly doubled this month in a cloud of government-fueled euphoria. Sounds a lot like Trudeau-mania 2.0, doesn’t it? OK, apologies for the extendo-macro session, but it matters here. To understand the incredible advantage that Icanic Brands (ICAN, ICNAF) has over the competition, you need to know just how difficult it is to make money in this industry. Icanic Brands is, essentially, becoming the pre-roll king of California. Now that’s a big, and potentially confusing, statement, so what exactly are pre-rolls? Cannabis is, of course, available in everything from edibles and drinks to pills and hemp oils. Flower, that traditional unrolled bag of marijuana, remains the biggest seller but profit margins are incredibly low and therefore profits are equally low. Rapidly gaining on the regular flower product is the pre-roll, which is basically like a pre-rolled cigarette, but of cannabis. The problem with pre-rolls is pretty simple: somebody has to roll them! Each one, hand by hand, hour after hour, all the while getting paid for their labours. Brandon Kou, Icanic’s CEO, knew this wasn’t the way to profitability so he went where all of us should go for good ideas: to Silicon Valley! It was there that the company partnered with a team of engineers who had been working with Tesla and Genetech. The plan was to make a pre-roll machine that could streamline the process and cut costs dramatically. They succeeded. So what” you say? “Can’t everybody do that?” The answer is an emphatic no! In fact, very few companies possess the technology to mechanize pre-rolling at all. Rolling cannabis isn’t like bottling or canning or even rolling cigarettes. It is a finicky process that is very time intensive and exceedingly difficult to develop technology for. Your next thought might possibly be “So what are we talking here, Icanic? Maybe 50 rolls per hour?” If those engineers were here, they’d probably laugh at you in that smug way that engineers do, and they’d tell you that their technology produces ONE THOUSAND pieces per hour, each one a perfect copy of the last. Nobody is doing this in California or nation-wide. Not even close. As you can guess, the project was a massive success, so much so that the team of engineers is being brought exclusively under the Icanic umbrella, and a second machine is fully operational and ready to roll. So, what is the advantage, numbers-wise? It really is all about profit margin. It is the only way to thrive in the cannabis business. Before the first pre-roll technology made its debut, Icanic was selling at a 16% profit margin. Not terrible, but leaving something to be desired. After Q1 (Ending in late November), profit margins were up to a ridiculous 45.7%. Nobody has margins like this. And this is with only one machine rolling one shift of eight hours per day. But the technology can’t take all the credit. They have achieved VERTICAL INTEGRATION, which is just a fancy way of saying they grow their own plants (13,000 sq.ft. cultivation facility in Sacramento), manufacture it themselves (2,700sq.ft. facility in Oakland) and sell it in…...let this sink in….. 375 locations across the great state of California. With this vertical integration, their costs are only $1000/lb of cannabis flower versus about $2,200/lb if they had to purchase it. In fact, they’ve been able to sell excess flower to other companies at that incredible profit margin, as the Covid-19 lockdowns have ravaged supply in 2020-2021. Another bonus is that they have no physical stores to worry about, as Icanic has focused all of their energy only on promoting their brands across the state. The biggest winner is the high-end Ganja Gold brand, the fastest growing brand in America (I know that’s a big statement, so I’ll revisit it later). The volume brand, Taylor’s, is rapidly increasing its reach across the state. Ganja Gold’s footprint can’t be overstated, with access to over 375 outlets out of 620 legal stores. No other brand in California has access to that many legal stores. With this kind of market penetration, and a large sales force, the company can launch new brands (or acquire them) and immediately penetrate the market. Ganja Gold, before being acquired by Icanic, had spent 8 years building their brand recognition So now the story really gets rolling. The second pre-roll machine will add potentially 2 extra shifts to production, which triples output. In addition, major players in the space have become very interested parties in Icanic’s patented technology. The opportunity to “white label” the technology is something Mr. Kou is now openly discussing. (By “white labelling”, these interested parties would pay handsomely for use of the Icanic pre-roll technology, but not actually become the owner of it.) The master plan comes into focus in 2021, as Icanic has already developed a major footprint in Nevada, and expects to have all of their brands selling there by spring, with a production facility already acquired. They have an increasing war chest to begin acquiring distressed boutique businesses that have struggled through the pandemic, and management have maintained that this is a priority. Oh, and the pre-roll technology is adaptable to all different strains and quantities. Icanic is coming out with its “minis”, which are roughly half the size of the regular pre-rolls. The minis actually address an even bigger demand than the regular rolls. Mr. Kou has pounded the table explaining that 2020 was a year to develop their technology, spread their products across every corner of the state, and establish profit margins that are simply unheard of anywhere in the industry. Leaflink, the industry’s wholesale online marketplace, named Ganja Gold the FASTEST GROWING pre-roll in the entire country. Revenues for the company rose 45% last quarter to $2.65 million, and management is expecting a $30 million 2021. There’s some fun napkin math for you. Combine the fastest growing brand with the ability to scale it with unmatched, patented technology. What you get is pretty simple. Somehow, amidst the growing sense that cannabis legalization is inevitable in the United States, very few investors have caught on to one company that is never going to suffer the fate of those poor Canadian boutique companies. [REVIEW] CHANEL CF Jumbo (30cm) Black Caviar SHW - GOD Factory from Non-TS Lau / No Edge Stitching
Warning Long Intro... (Feel Free to Skip Ahead to the Review) This is all about Edge Stitching on Classic Flap Caviar bags. Now I have seen CF bags without edge stitching but they were mainly on seasonal bags (iridescent), lambskin, and minis. I had never seen or heard of a Black Caviar Jumbo CF bag without the edge stitching. What exactly is edge stitching? It's the stitching along the front flap of the bag edge stitching. My dream bag has always been a Chanel Black Jumbo Classic Double Flap Bag. I've read countless reviews on RL and was only narrowing it down to which factory I wanted to go with and hardware. After hours of research, watching youtube videos, and reading RL reviews, I decided to go with God Factory because I preferred large caviar grain and puffier quilting. Two Versions I found out the hard way, that there are two different versions of this bag from God Factory. I didn't realize it until the PSPs surfaced and I asked Lau about it. I asked if the bag was in stock and sent this Factory Photo that I found somewhere here on RL. Lau checked and said, "This endless God Factory has it in stock". I didn't focus on the word "endless" too much. I guess it was a lost in translation moment. And I only noticed after the fact that there were two different bags in that photo. When I got the PSPs I was definitely concerned since it looked nothing like a Jumbo Caviar classic flap usually does and didn't look like other God Factory Jumbos I've seen from RL. I asked Lau why there were 2 versions and he told me that both are sold in the boutique. When I initially researched Fashionphile, RealReal, and other google searches for a borderless, endless, no etching stitching black caviar jumbo CF, nothing was found, except a few TPF posts about the topic TPF regarding Edge Stitching Does it really matter? I think for me, I just wanted to have peace of mind that the bag wouldn't be an instant callout. I'm not really a picky person but this detail was fairly hard to miss. And up until recently, I could not locate an auth in black caviar without the edge stitching. There are no refunds or exchanges with God Factory so I was stuck either way. Lau assured me that once I got the bag, that I wouldn't care, so I hoped for the best and took his word for it. **Onto the Review!*\*

**Quality - 9/10*\* The leather is thick, large-grained, and of very good quality. However it's a bit dry, I've never owned an auth caviar cf before so I am unsure if this is common (.5). I've since conditioned it with 3 rounds of Leather Honey and it's getting to where I want it to be. The leather inside the pocket is very nice and smooth. There is a noticeable difference from the inside of my CD Factory Jumbo. I've read a lot of reviews in comparisons of various jumbos from 187, GF, Xiao C, S Factory, CD. It came down to 187 and GF. I ultimately chose GF because I wanted puffier quilts. IMO quilts are flatter than the usual puffiness that God Factory is known for. There is no edge stitching along the front flap and CC logo plate for this version. The straps came very kinked and took a while for me to straighten them out (.5). The hardware is very shiny and is a good weighty material, excellent quality. The inner Chanel "Made in Paris" foil stamp is neat and crisp. The inside zipper is smooth and works fine. There were no loose stitching or fufu smells. **Accuracy - 9.25/10*\* (I am not the best at reviewing CFs so comments are welcome!) Chains/Hardware (-.25) The hardware is gleaming and beautiful, definitely the centerpiece for this bag. The interior button and turn-lock work fine. The grommets match auth. The chain was twisted and I read on TPF that this also happens on auth bags. The chains go through the grommets better after I fixed the twisting and do not squeak, but aren't as smooth as they could be. The part where the chain separates is fully stitched Logo Plate/Interior Stamp - The logo plate has the correct placement on the front and interior sides. Foil Stamp Comparison with Auth Screws are not aligned (varies on auth) but they are flathead and the "Chanel" and "Paris" are placed correctly matching auth. Interior stamp "Chanel Made in France" font is crisp and clear, font and foil seem in line with auth. LeatheCaviar Grains- The grains are large and deep and you can feel them when you run your fingers across the bag. The auth varies in each season so this seems to be in line. The leather is thick and very well made. It's high quality for sure as I could immediately tell the difference vs. other leathers I've owned. However, I cannot compare to auth. In certain lighting, it has a matte sheen and others a glossy finish. I tried to capture this in the photos and video. Stitching - My eyes are terrible and had a hard time counting stitches, but seems to be 10-11 per diamond quilt which is in line with auth. There were no loose threads or any issues. Front Flap (-.25) - For the most part, has the correct shape, however, the slanted edges could be a little more pronounced to resemble the auths 3 part curvature for newer series bags I've researched online. Flap Curve Comparison with Auth The bottom corners of the flap look good. Interior Flap - The intersection where the 2 C's cross is not double stitched. I counted 6 stitches at each cross-section. The auth seems to vary so I am not sure what it's supposed to be. It doesn't matter much to me though. Overall Shape/Alignment (-.25)- Overall shape matches auth. The alignment looks good on the bottom, and sides of the bag. The sides don't bulge out like my CD flap. While the Mona Lisa pocket looks good, the bottom triangles aren't consistent with newer auth jumbos. This is the same for the front of the bag. The diamonds at the bottom and the mini triangles differ in size and shape but is passable. I've seen older jumbos with this same diamond pattern at the bottom. I only deducted points because this is supposed to be a series 29 bag (2019). Measurements - Base Length: 30cm, Height: 19.6 cm, Width: 9.5 cm, Drop: 33 cm, Longest Drop: 58.4 cm **Satisfaction - 9/10*\* Let me be clear - this bag is gorgeous. It is very well made and the quality of GF speaks for itself. However, I was very disappointed at the beginning of the purchase and not really loving the PSPs. The bag looked dull, the lighting was dark, and looked like there were creases in the bag. Also, I wanted a bag with the edge stitching but I am glad I was able to find one without it. I'm still debating if I want to buy another bag though. If I do, I think it will be from 187. I just don't want to go through the hassle of waiting. Since Chinese New Year is approaching I have lots of time to decide. Until then, I'm using this bag with the hopes of my mind changing. It is definitely growing on me. **Service/Communication - 10/10*\* Lau is fast, friendly, and helpful. When I first brought the issue to him, he was somewhat defensive. I just wished he would've used another word other than "endless" because it didn't register clearly to me. However, I did assure him that I wasn't putting him at fault. I should've looked at the photo closer and asked for more factory pics. He did apologize and told me that GF doesn't accept returns. And also told me that if I wanted to order another bag, he would give me a discount if I was unsatisfied. I told him I'd wait for the bag to arrive before I made a reorder. I appreciate this coming from a non-ts seller because this wasn't something he had to do -- but wanted to in order to make sure I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. I would definitely order from Lau again because of this. And also because of his timeliness in responding and helpfulness in answering my questions.

I know 2020 isn’t a super high bar and WOC reviews are a dime a dozen, but I hope this post will still be helpful! I will try to format this in an easy to digest manner, please feel free to skip ahead to the more interesting areas if desired. I remember how I have had much better experiences when I ask to chat a little about preferences and awkwardly pull out pictures on my phone first, and decide to do the same here. I speak with Queenie a bit more on what I’m looking for -- lambskin as it looks more pretty to me (also caviar looks like a lot of cells or bubbles to me zoomed in really close and that’s off-putting to me personally), SHW as I can’t rock GHW just yet without looking out of place, and I favour quality more so than accuracy as I want to be able to use a bag for a long time. Because at the end of the day, reps can/should be considered items that ought to be deserving of spending hard-earned income on as well! 💸💸💸
December 7th: Following our conversation on my preferences I explicitly ask for black lambskin with SHW. Queenie tells me she understands what I’m looking for and provides me with corresponding Factory Pictures and pricing. I ask about the payment method and we work out Transferwise into Alipay Bank Account (shoutout to u/tripleaw for suggesting this!) as I did not know how to use Western Union and didn’t feel entirely comfortable with it. I ask about shipping options and express that I’d like EMS because DHL has, in my experience, almost always resulted in customs and processing fees (also EMS has been insanely fast to Canada!). Queenie agrees and I pay via Transferwise. I let her know that the payment may take up to 4 days as that had been my experience in the past, she tells me no worries. She was able to receive it in 20 minutes though, my bank hadn’t even reflected the update as this was the middle of the night for me still lol 😂. I also inquire about the free gift that is stated in her welcome post. She sends me some selections and I pick a silver Gucci belt after measuring myself. I also send address details and Queenie confirms my order with me.
December 9th: I get PSPs early in the morning and I express concerns about the back pocket alignment and Queenie sends me more photos in which I realize it was just the angle. I ask for videos and a couple more photos as I still felt some concern regarding the logo stamping (the C in Chanel looked kinda small to me). Plus, I didn’t get any photos initially of the sides, bottom and chains. Queenie takes and sends more photos without hesitation. At this point I still have some reserves about the CC alignment on the front of the bag as in some photos it looks misaligned and in others, it doesn't. Queenie again sends more photos of the alignment and I GL as I hope it’s just photo angles being weird. Moreover, I really appreciated Queenie sending me so many photos and being patient with my worries. I did not want to be overly critical and difficult as it is a rep after all.
December 11th: I get EMS tracking information and begin stalking 17TRACK daily.
December 17th: Just for fun I check for an update at 1 am, lo and behold my package had just been processed less than an hour ago. The package is out for delivery in the morning, I am greeted with a yellow cube of happiness at lunchtime.
I will be using a rating scale as follows to streamline and help the reader better understand what a score reviewed by myself entails; *A score of a perfect 10 will be default, but will be deducted accordingly.\* [-1.0] for differences that are immediately obvious or do not require much effort to discern. [-0.5] for differences that require some more careful observations and/or background knowledge. [-0.25] for differences that would require special attention, such as precise measurements, close-ups, and heavy scrutiny. [-0.1] for extremely tiny details that probably no one would ever notice unless you were truly trying to find inaccuracies/defects... for something like a Reddit Review or for authentication purposes. 📏
⭐️ *Quality - 9.5/10* 🌟
🍮 Pudding’s Note on Scaling: 🍮 This portion is largely based on what I feel is a quality product having taken into consideration the price, material, and usability. Leather: No fufu smell upon arrival. Though the leather scent was a little faint and has become stronger now than before, I currently have a habit of bringing it up to my nose to sniff now 🤭. It feels different from PU that I own (yes pudding, because this is actual leather, duhh) and is nicer than the leather of an MK bag I own that is priced similarly. I also went around the house and compared it to other SLGs and chairs (the ones that have been used for years!), it feels similar in leather quality to me and I think having been out of the box for a couple of weeks now the WOC leather has gotten even better in feeling. The leather quilts are squishy and poofy, the folded sides are softer than the more firm inside linings, but overall I can’t stop touching it lol. But, I will take off *[ -0.5]\* as the small edge quilts on the left side are not puffed up properly and instead rather flat. It is a little bit hard to tell with photos and even in real life if you’re not purposefully squishing each and every square, but the bottom left and right quilts on the front should be the most noticeable differences if you want to investigate for yourself.
🍮Pudding’s Note that no one asked for: My nose is quite sensitive and I have had items before that have made me feel immediately nauseous or gave me instant headaches, even if it was merely a faint whiff. This happens to me very often in cars with “warm” air freshener scents and I would say fufu has that “warm” characteristic that I dislike. 🤮
Stitching: Clean, neat and even, I found no loose threads or wonky stitching. Zippers: Smooth, and do not feel flimsy. I’ve encountered many poor-performing zippers and I appreciate good ones, these pass the test! Magnet Closure: Strong, works well and keeps the WOC securely closed. Chain: Feels like a nice weight! I also have not had any squeaking or twisting problems, even though I had mentally prepared for it after reading many reviews on here.

Therefore, I encourage you to take a look at the hyperlinks I’ve included if you have the time! 🍮 Pudding’s Note on Chanel Boutiques: 🛍 Just for you girls I made a trip to the Chanel boutique for the first time in my life, just so I wouldn’t have to say “I tried my best to compare with reference photos online, I have never felt auth before in my life, but 10/10 accuracy!” as I know I personally would not feel fully confident in an accuracy judgement based on those remarks. Thus, I decided not to be too hypocritical and dressed up for the occasion. Here are some photos from the excursion with commentary.
🍮Pudding’s Note that no one asked for: As you may have figured from previous P’s Ns, I’m rather shy and would be equally afraid of window shopping in Chanel as I would in a small boutique or some other empty store. Thus, I believe the majority of my (surprisingly non-obvious) nervousness came not from carrying a rep into the shop, but from me being the pudding that I am and from COVID-19 being the social distancing, hand sanitizing, try-not-to-touch-shared-things Pandemic that it is. To add on, I brought up my WOC in conversation a couple of times with the SA and she treated me with no difference before and after. She was professional and not the chatty type. To maybe illustrate, her repeated response to me realizing caviar feels plasticky was simply that “it’s personal preference” and nothing more. I did not feel like she was trying to rush me out after I was finished with taking photos of the auth WOC for a “friend who is looking to purchase but cannot come down herself so I am helping out” as she still encouraged me to look around at other items too. She did inform me that they were very low on stock as this was the day right after Christmas and asked if my friend would be able to come to look for themselves (I said no they lived too far away lol 🤫). I also mentioned I would come back to look again in January (aka, now) and she said that would be good and recommended it as well. Finally, I was meeting with friends for dinner after and did not want to dwell too long anyways, ‘til the next infiltration. 🔍
Leather: Compared to auth it is noticeably not as buttery soft nor shiny *[-1.0].\* Although I do find that the sheen has gotten shinier since Unpacking Day.
🍮Pudding’s Note that no one asked for: I am debating between getting leather honey to condition the WOC with or to wait and see if natural oils will do, and if you have any recommendations I'd love to hear them! The auth discrepancy has made me want to rub the WOC more to combat the dryness and to save on having to purchase a conditioner when I’m still quite content with the leather’s appeal. Not that that’s a terrible thing, my pet WOC and I are enjoying this symbiotic relationship just fine. 🥰
CC Alignment: Alright, here’s the part that bugs me the most. The CC on the front is left-tilted when looking at the WOC head-on from a closer distance. Some days I see it easily, and other days it looks fine and doesn’t bother me. I’ve poured through many many FP listings hoping to find redemption, and I found a small sample size of WOCs with the same problem. Attached here is a Pink WOC where it can be easily seen. I also forcibly asked a friend to stare at my WOC and tell me honestly whether or not they felt it was left-tilted. They told me “it’s not as noticeable as you think.” Therefore, given all the aforementioned observations, I will compromise and take off *[-0.5]\* for good measure.
🍮Pudding’s Note that no one asked for: This one is short, simple, and sweet. Sometimes I find that looking at the photo upside down helps me better gauge whether or not the alignment is crooked/tilted. 🙃
Back Pocket: The placement is correct in terms of height, shape, and location. It is ever so slightly to the right when comparing the sides of the pocket to where it touches the quilt intersections, but this is common on auths as well, please see some examples of pocket placement here. A similar case can be made for where the top corners of the pocket smile land, while it is not completely symmetrical there have been many comments on auth having the same issue and are visible in the previous link. However, I notice certain aspects of the backside may not be 100% accurate. Per some recent reviews on CFs, I have investigated further into the bottom row of the half triangles situation on my WOC. I had found it was not 1:1 with the Factory Pictures, but I had thought that would be fine and not a flaw. I realize now I should’ve probably asked for an exchange as there are no other WOCs with the same pattern as the one on mine, auth or rep. Typically, WOC triangles either end with nice half triangles that meet at the bottom of the pocket, or there will be 75% of the diamond peaking out and overlapping onto the pocket and a small row of baby triangles lines the lowest row. If that was confusing, please see the previous link for some examples. However, The closest placement I have found to mine is on the same Pink WOC from earlier, where that small row of baby triangles is juuuust above the outer seam line, not as high as mine is, but very close. I will still deduct *[-0.25]\* here because some work went into investigation. Although, I personally don’t think it is incredibly noticeable as I am still able to ignore it at times. Also, there could be a chance this is not true as I have not poured over every single existing auth photo out there and mainly only investigated on TPF (please somebody correct me, I would love to be wrong for deducting here! 🥺🥺🥺). I also felt an inner lining may be missing from the back pocket, based upon my short period of interaction with an auth of which I spent a solid 3 seconds feeling the inner back pocket. Um, I am unsure because at the time I was much more focused on trying to not look too weird. But, I will still deduct an additional *[-0.1]\* just in case. Quilting: Puffy and diamond-shaped! I would say between being too puffy and not enough, mine is marginally closer to the not enough side if I had to pick. Thus, I have found an auth where the quilting is much less puffy and quite flat here and here. Overall, compared to Chanel’s website as well as the in-store auth I would say that mine is similar. No points to deduct. Stitching: I counted ~8.5 stitches per quilt, which I believe is accurate to the expected 8-9 number I’ve seen floating around on this sub. There is some misalignment at the bottom of the back pocket where the stitches do not line up perfectly, but that was a little difficult to tell on black lambskin. Furthermore, I found the same issue again on other autos, but it is easiest to see on the same Pink WOC. As it was relatively hard to tell with my chosen hardware combination, I will only cautiously deduct *[-0.1].\*
🍮Pudding’s Note that no one asked for: This was one of those areas I would not have cared for prior to RL, but also at the same time I thought Chanel would be such a great rep purchase as:
It is very popular (and therefore easy to find reps of… please I just want the Strathberry Miffy bag so badly 😩🥺).
The diamond pattern should make it easy to discern inaccuracies and calloutable items. 🔎
While both points are true, it is still difficult to find differences without prior research and/or extreme staring and measuring. For better or for worse, this led to intensive research on my part both on and off the sub, which had resulted in the most important categories in this review to be filled with many links and reference images. 🔗 Insides and Lining: I matched all linings with auth, no inaccuracies here as the front pocket is an inner black lining, and everything else a deeper maroon. Again, no points to deduct. Stamping and Sticker: I think the Chanel stamping is a hair too thin and the C is ever so slightly smaller than the rest of the characters from certain angles, giving it a cHANEL appearance albeit with much less exaggeration. But I have also found many auth on FP with such variations on what must now be appropriately referred to as the infamous Pink WOC and on this other listing too. As well, for reference purposes, I have found some auth stampings that are; really thick, thin and clean, super chonky, and not super crisp. The “Made in Italy” likely deserves a 0/10 for accuracy on its own as it almost certainly was not made there 🤣, but otherwise looks slightly messy, which matches what I’ve seen here. Lastly, the sticker is also obviously just as false as the rest of the production-related content, but the serial number does match the one on the Authenticity Card I was provided with. The sticker is in the top right corner of the front pocket, which I believe is true to auth. I honestly had a hard time looking at the sticker without feeling like I would be bending the WOC improperly. Instead, I will wait for any comments that tell me of sticker inaccuracies and deduct accordingly.
🍮Pudding’s Note that no one asked for: Holy moly, taking pictures of the stamps and stickers was SO HARD. It was partially why I did not write this review right away, I thought I would try to use the bag a little first and see if softness from usage would be helpful (I think it was). Honestly, kudos to the PSP takers, that sticker is tucked away so well. Anyways, here’s a fun Easter Egg for your time, remember one of the links I mentioned in the stamp and sticker portion? Well it looks like this one has an upside-down sticker! Really makes you wonder if it's actually auth huh. 🧐🧐🧐
Chain: I honestly remember nothing from when I was feeling the chain very briefly, this was one of those areas I felt would be weird to be handling too much. As mentioned previously, I feel the chain is genuinely a good weight and density. And I experienced no squeaky, twisty chains. I have measured the drop length to be approx. 61-62 cm which is in line with this listing, thus no point deductions will be made. I have seen in previous reviews that the measurements vary in auth as well within this range, so I will not deduct any points due to measurement error either. Measurements: The dimensions are the same, +/- 0.5cm at most, as the auth previously mentioned in the Chain section. Please note that I am not entirely sure how width is measured though and for this section, I measured the WOC’s pocket in its most normal state, which is slightly expanded, but nowhere near fully. Nevertheless, no point deductions here as mine is well within the auth ballpark. I also weighed the WOC to be 36.7 grams, whether that means something or not I don't know. Feel free to let me know if this requires a point adjustment or anything. Overall Shape and Final Comments: Firstly, the alignment of everything on the front is spot on and easily matches many auth photos. This is great as it is the most obvious side, and therefore the most potentially calloutable. The arch of the cover is clear and the flap attempts to close up on its own, which I think is nice and something I have seen in auth references on the sub. As for packaging, I don’t really have much to say about it as I’ve never seen or felt auth, but I am not going to nitpick based on that. My brain is far too tired to be scrutinizing packaging pictures on the internet at 34 5 am lol. I will note though that the shipping cube was very smol, and thus the shopping bag was folded in half and the Chanel Box had a small dent on a corner. If any of that matters to you, please feel free to deduct points in the category you think is appropriate! And for what it's worth (haha this is a pun 💩), I also found the dust bag to be a nice and not cheap feeling material. Finally, I strongly believe that everything, other than touch, would be rather non-obvious to your average person who sees the WOC next to the auth. I again (kindly) asked a friend to guess between many auth and factory comparison photos and they were unable to do so based solely on photos in 85% of the cases. Thus, I have and will continue to wear my WOC with confidence.
Okay buckle in friends, this entire section and the one after will basically be extended, director’s cut of Pudding's Notes. Firstly, I thought the WOC was such a stupid concept. Why would you want a wallet that not only cannot fit into a pocket, yet requires you to wear it at all times? Nevertheless, I began watching comparison videos of caviar vs lambskin, CF vs mini, and eventually realized the WOC was the perfect compromise in many ways;
It’s classy yet subtle, perfect for any time of the day or year. 🗓
It’s a wallet/can hold whatever a wallet can -- an item that is another daily staple of life. 🧻
It’s not as bold as a CF or other bags can be, especially when you’re not really of age, income, nor family expectation to be sporting, say, 10 different fancy bags. 🧧
Revisiting the wallet argument, I may or may not have had a bigger rectangular wallet stolen from me because I didn’t want to carry it around at the time and left it on a desk momentarily… oh it also housed my phone and saved-up cash I was going to use to replace a charger I lost (I opted for cash because back then my dad had a joint account with me and would’ve found out about me losing the other thing oops 😱). BUT, the on chain portion of the WOC makes this ideal because now I never have to take it off, but my hands can stay free for other things. Updated vendetta: clutches. ☠️
I carry a lot of things I never use in my bags now already, maybe because I don’t want to have that empty space or a “what if I end up in a situation where I need an old shopping receipt” type of situation. Suffice to say, that specific outcome has never occurred, and I think my mom would be really proud of me not being a hoarder for once in my life. 🤡
Another mom-driven point; she would never approve of me purchasing and owning a designer item so early in life. I guess she’s right because the teenage rebeller in me is still going strong. Although, the sleek design might let me outlive a lecture a little bit longer than more pronounced bags could 😏. I feel the WOC just might be the best bet I have of convincing her to get one too. I'm feeling inspired by all the members who have been able to repfluence their families. 👌🏻
Finally, I’m short! Yet, I love wearing bags cross-body, especially when they hit just a tad lower than hip length. After watching 5 different videos of people showing the WOC being worn, I suspected (and rightfully so!) that the excessive length on the WOC would be great for my preferences. ✌🏻
Aaaaaaand there you have it, the 7 deadly sins -- Pudding’s WOC Edition. Having eaten my own words, I conclude that the WOC is the perfect blend of “affordability,” usability, essential storage options, combination variety, and, above all, a timeless beauty. Despite my OCD of the backside flaring up just a little bit here and there, I have surprisingly been able to keep it at bay most of the time *[-0.25].\* For the times I cannot, I ironically turn to the back pocket, as that is where I find the quilts most satisfying to squish in the name of stress relief. 🤓 Bonus! 🍮Pudding’s Prelude: 🍮 Following an adequate transaction with a TS, I decided to venture out and explore some Non-TS options. I spoke with quite a few that had been reviewed on this platform already but ultimately stumbled upon Queenie’s welcome post. While I found no review history, I also did not find any red flags such as comments putting down another seller or copy-pasting someone else’s introduction post. It was still a shot in the dark of course, but Queenie added me back so quickly and so politely asked if there was anything she could help me with, I decided to take the bullet. Queenie was also open to allowing me to try to send her payment to her Alipay which was great because I’ve realized I’m a Transferwise or bust kind of gal now. She also did not rush me at any point during the process, which was nice as I’ve had experiences in the past where I was pushed a little too much. By the rating you’ve seen already, I’m sure you can tell I’m pleased with the rewards of the risk, and I had a pleasant transaction with her from start to finish. 😊 🍮Pudding’s Post-remarks: 🍮 Queenie is so sweet, she didn’t mind that I was more chatty than I needed to be (I realize now this has spilt over and is evident in this review post as well, kudos to you for reading this absurdly long piece) and she sends me cute stickers of ducks, babies, and cats. She is quick to respond almost always, with occasional replies taking at longest 1.5 days. I also appreciated her taking more photos and videos quickly without any complaints. I believe she is still new to RL’s PSP expectations, but I acknowledge her attempts and willingness. Additionally, I decided to ask her if she wanted to hear my concerns with the WOC (mainly the CC alignment and back pocket stitching, the latter of which I felt I did not need to share as much anymore because of previously mentioned auth having the same issues) and she said yes. When I did so, she did not make any excuses and reaffirmed it would be fine to have switched it out and promptly offered me a discount on my next purchase, which was totally a surprise and I told her I was thankful. Furthermore, her attitude towards me did not change thereafter, which I’ve heard some RLs have encountered with other sellers before, following problematic purchases. Queenie is also honest with me about her thoughts on factory quality, telling me when she believes the quality-to-price ratio is good or if there’s a cheaper model that she would recommend instead as she knows I do not need the bestest quality for every single item. She encourages me to send her Factory Photos when I do see a review that I like so that she can confirm whether or not she has access to that specific factory and/or bag. I have since inquired with her about many, many other items and she has still continued to be patient with my extreme indecisiveness (spoiler: >!Celine goods have stolen my heart once again!<).
