In the next couple weeks, Mountain Crest Acquisition Corp is taking Playboy public. The existing ticker MCAC will become PLBY. Special purpose acquisition companies have taken private companies public in recent months with great success. I believe this will be no exception. Notably, Playboy is profitable and has skyrocketing revenue going into a transformational growth phase.
Porn - First and foremost, let's talk about porn. I know what you guys are thinking. “Porno mags are dead. Why would I want to invest in something like that? Gambling - Some of you might recognize the Playboy brand from gambling trips to places like Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Cancun, London or Macau. They’ve been in the gambling biz for decades through their casinos, clubs, and licensed gaming products. They see the writing on the wall. COVID is accelerating the transition to digital, application based GAMBLING. That’s right. What we are doing on Robinhood with risky options is gambling, and the only reason regulators might give a shit anymore is because we are making too much money. Cannabis - If you’ve ever read through a Playboy magazine, you know they’ve had a positive relationship with cannabis for many years. As of September 2020, Playboy has made a major shift into the cannabis space. Too good to be true you say? Check their website. Playboy currently sells a range of CBD products. This is a good sign. Federal hemp products, which these most likely are, can be mailed across state lines and most importantly for a company like Playboy, can operate through a traditional banking institution. CBD products are usually the first step towards the cannabis space for large companies. This speaks to their ability to maintain a financially solvent company throughout the transition phase to the aforementioned areas. They’d say some fancy shit like “expanded business model to encompass four key revenue streams: Sexual Wellness, Style & Apparel, Gaming & Lifestyle, and Beauty & Grooming.” I hear “we’re just biding our time with these trinkets until those dollar dollar bill y’all markets are fully up and running.” But the truth is these existing revenue streams are profitable, scalable, and rapidly expanding Playboy’s e-commerce segment around the world.

Ben “The Bridge” Kohn is an interesting guy. He’s the connection between Rizvi Traverse and Playboy. He’s both CEO of Playboy and was previously Managing Partner at Rizvi Traverse. Ben seems to be the voice of the Playboy-Rizvi partnership, which makes sense with Suhail’s privacy concerns. Kohn said this:

These guys are good. They have a proven track record of success across multiple industries. Connections and money run deep with all of these guys. I don’t think they’re in the game to lose.
I was going to write a couple more paragraphs about why you should have a look at this but really the best thing you can do is read this SEC filing from a couple days ago. It explains the situation in far better detail. Specifically, look to page 137 and read through their strategy. Also, look at their ownership percentages and compensation plans including the stock options and their prices. The financials look great, revenue is up 90% Q3, and it looks like a bright future.

I’m hesitant to attach this because his position seems short term, but I’m going to with a warning because he does hit on some good points (two are below his link) and he’s got a sizable position in this thing (500k+ on margin, I think). Current Cultural Significance and Meme Value: A year ago I wouldn’t have included this section but the events from the last several weeks (even going back to tsla) have proven that a company’s ability to meme and/or gain social network popularity can have an effect. Tik-tok, Snapchat, Twitch, Reddit, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter. They all have Playboy stuff on them. Kids in middle and highschool know what Playboy is but will likely never see or touch one of the magazines in person. They’ll have a Playboy hoodie though. Crazy huh? A lot like GME, PLBY would hugely benefit from meme-value stock interest to drive engagement towards their new business model while also building strategic coffers. This interest may not directly and/or significantly move the stock price but can generate significant interest from larger players who will.
Bull Case: The year is 2025. Playboy is now the world leader pleasure brand. They began by offering Playboy licensed gaming products, including gambling products, direct to consumers through existing names. By 2022, demand has skyrocketed and Playboy has designed and released their own gambling platforms. In 2025, they are also a leading cannabis brand in the United States and Canada with proprietary strains and products geared towards sexual wellness. Cannabis was legalized in the US in 2023 when President Biden got glaucoma but had success with cannabis treatment. He personally pushes for cannabis legalization as he steps out of office after his first term. Playboy has also grown their brand in China and India to multi-billion per year markets. The stock goes up from 11ish to 100ish and everyone makes big gains buying somewhere along the way.
Bear Case: The United States does a complete 180 on marijuana and gambling. Following an MRI scan last week specialists had advised rest but Jay has insisted he wants to try to finish the current run of dates. Doctors have said that provided he manages the pain sufficiently he can continue performing if he feels able. During the course of the past two days the pain flared up again and yesterday he reluctantly decided he did not feel he well enough to perform last night. After two days rest he is hopeful he will be able to complete the remaining 4 shows of the current run, including Toulon tomorrow night. Jay said "I would like to thank fans for their understanding, this is a very frustrating injury and some days the pain is just too extreme to perform to a standard I believe is acceptable. I promise I will do my best to come back out again soon when I'm fully fit and am optimistic I'll be able to pull off the remaining shows of the run."

I've lived in North College Hill my entire life except for the year I lived in London, the year I lived in Newport, the two years I lived in Clifton and the three years I lived in Mount Healthy, and the 2 years I spent living in the Cincinnati homeless system.

I'll tell you a story. Two and a half years ago I was drinking two pots of coffee a day, smoking an ounce of weed a week, and smoking black and milds by the box every half week. I was a mess. I finally in that mess made a good decision though. Like I have experienced a lot of air. I'm good with air. I know different kinds of air. I almost died from carbon monoxide poisoning in my car 10 years ago and kept falling asleep at the wheel going so far as to physically hold my eyelids open so I knew about air. I'm laying in my apartment and I start blinking a lot and I start getting pains on my esophagus and I call the fire department. They check for CO and they blow zero. I'm like fuck I don't know this air isn't right. So I leave my apartment all night. I go back that morning and I stay awake and I check things out and everything is fine and then that night the air get's fucked up again. I call the fire department and they do a CO check and it blows zero and i'm like this air is still shitty. So then I go out all night and come back in the morning with the windows and doors wide open. I've breathed air before I just had some fucked up air in my apartment. I had the carbon monoxide situation before so I the next day get some gear and abandon my apartment after my folks said I couldn't stay with them. I just abandon my apartment. Couldn't trust the air.
Then I walk downtown because I didn't have bus money. I walk from Mount Healthy to Uc and then lay a story on them about apartments with bad air and they let me know they'll THINK about doing a story on it. I'm like I'm Alumni just thought I would stop in and say Hi! on my way downtown. Fuck bad air. So then I get downtown and I'm homeless and I thought the homeless shelter was on Linn Street where it was a time I stayed there before. I'm half delirious at this point from not sleeping and I just start walking around downtown. In hindsight I could have asked someone where the homeless shelter was but I didn't think about that. I spent 5 days downtown in the spring time sleeping at the Casino on the top floor when I needed sleep and I just lived downtown. Then it got to the point where I had walked so very much that my entire body ached like every muscle in my body had a firm workout. I was burning. My feet. I was chafing and then one night I go to the Aronoff Art Gallery and there's a rejuvination exhibit so I go in take off my shoes rub some scented oil on my feet and let the docent's know they need to call an ambulance because i have blisters so thick I can't walk anymore.

So the police take me to summit behavioral healthcare which is a mental behavior therapy and addiction specialist medical facility and I stay there for three months running into all kinds of manner of people. I eat well. I was slated to stay there for two weeks but they took three months finding a place for me to stay and I ended up at Kemper House where that is transitional housing and I had a room and a bed and I sort of had weed to smoke and television to watch and music to listen to and people to smoke with. It was cool. I'm there for three months and I befriend this man named JT whose a writer for Street Vibes and he has his photo on the paper and we smoke trees together he introduces me to some weed dealers we buy some scented oils together to make his place smell nice and he offers to let me live with him in walnut hills. So my folks move a bed and some things from their place that they had to move me out of my apartment because 2 weeks into my stay at summit the landlord evicted me and I'm now staying with JT a man that was real cool until he started robbing me when I moved in and then there was the heroin party where like 3 people were injecting themselves with needles at his place in Walnut hills and then there was the night I left where he was working his way up to fight me in an enclosed space. I grabbed my things right before it sounded like he was going to get violent as he was working his way up to fight me. I make my way down to Gest Street and stay at the men's shelter which was an amazing place to stay.

I was there for 3 months when I had to go to the hospital one time for not taking medication and they sent me to a small clinic to get back on meds and it was a nice place. There were cute girls there there was nice food. I go back to the men's shelter and I'm smoking weed. Talking shit. Working on a website on wordpress and I just loved the men's shelter the women were hot. I was looking for a place to live. the men were cool. the weed was good. the music was arena quality with some fat shotgun looking boomboxes playing music all day long. I stayed awake all night and kicked it with the night crew. the men's shelter in cincinnati is a bunk bed laden utopia and the food is great.

I get into this situation where a frenchman and an african from africa sits next to me on the couch and they start whispering how they want to fuck me in my ear and i get queasy to my stomach. the young african starts ramming his head into my stomach and following me around chasing me trying to get his hair grease on my belly and and steal him in the head and wonder if he wants a fight. that finishes and then the next day i let everyone know that happened and think everything is cool and then the next thing i know is i'm standing next to him so i instinctively think he is going to make a move and i smack him upside his face and the entire open room reacts and everyone anticipates a fight and people start hollering because it's an interracial situation and i call the police and the steward that works there calls the police and they come and i get taken to jail and then i'm in jail for three weeks lose all kinds of weight and then i get taken to summit again where i have to serve a sentence of six months for not guilty reason of insanity some kind of charge and i'm at summit again for six whole months to be brief.

then i get transferred to montgomery house where i start checking out apartments and i end up staying for three months and stay with my folks for a week until i found this place i am staying at now in north college hill. it's like a fucking huge ordeal worked out better than i could have thought. i love my new place have a great story that can be fleshed out more detail oriented than this and expanded to like 30 pages i think ... i don't know what happened at that apartment i just kept dealing with bad air and that led to homelessness which led to situations which led to me developing content on the go in several communities and i stayed productive and always had access to a computer and i kept writing and i just i'm not a freak i'm actually very normal but there is a part of me that my normal part a part of my brain that my normal part of me uses as a tool that's a freak the problem solving aspect of myself is freakish i'm more a of lay in bed and listen to music person for the most part but there are times when it's time to do something other than lay in bed and listen to music and that's where i fuck up

i think of art a lot and i have cameras at my disposal so i think of what to film and i have seen hundreds of movies read dozens of books have seen thousands of websites and my inspiration is saturated. I had to make sense of something that makes no sense at all and all i can say it's people doing things.

i'm as normal as this writing but it's the content that's fucked up in my life. my dna is svelt it's just built for school and that's about it ... you try and run an A concept past a street thug and you get an F ... like I was an A student at the University of Cincinnati with 11 years studying and then I hit the real world and the real world is not like school. I run into problems every day and I am hardening and I am on medications now and they are really thought suppressants or some kind of inhibitor or something else I don't know about and I just know that it's cool now i have a nice place now like now i might start working on putting my computer in the closet and throwing a party like i wouldn't mind buying 36 cans of beer and having people over to drink once my computer is put away i have that kind of time like i can throw a weekend party and people can sleep on the floor i need a college party like that in my life but like see even that that's an A+ university idea that the real world would fuck up ... and i'd supply the beer .... maybe someone would bring weed ...

i write a lot and i keep a steady thought journal and it was so hard being away from a work station homeless like i was in notebooks outputting everyday like i found out i have a deep need to export internal thoughts to external media and it was a cool two and a half month journey and now i am at my new place and i have a bed and television and internet and am working on http://www.nickspoems.com where I am writing literary agents looking for someone to represent my 6 books i have for sale on my site for a publisher and i have like two more books to add and i just have to find them and nickspoems.com is a hell of a place to read and i provide some links to some people that i think are my peers that have websites too and i linked to a friend of mine that is a consumate poet that's now in insurance and he was the man back at the greenwich and up in columbus and i just had a two year journey that was not even close to normal and i trust cincinnati now more i came to the realization that i need to quit fighting with my psychiatrist and just take the medications and i developed my list of complaints and for some reason i just struck this world as strange in a strange world in a world with like hero's like ICP and fucking CrazyTown and Liinkin Park and Bruce Jenner I got labeled as mentally ill and it's not me that has a problem with me it's people that want to help me become employable and i'm working on a business and i get this fat disability check every month that's like $900 and i get my currently $600 a month apartment and i get some help from my folks and as an author that two years was the greatest two years of my LYFE and in turn i got to write about it and this is the first time i wrote about it but like this city is real cool to it's homeless it basically just asks that while you are in the system not to do drugs that what it asks of people and not to be violent and i was violent and did drugs but it was a rational situation to be in and it wouldn't have happened if they had arrested the man that accosted me the first night and then the second night wouldn't have happened and then i ended up running into him at the montgomery house
