[game mechanics] How does the dropped item mechanics (cargo/equipment of online-players) work?
I couldn't find any reliable sources on how the mechanics of the game work under the hood. To clarify: I mean the green items from other online players that you can find on the ground while travelling. My hypothesis on how the mechanics could work: - Dropped cargo/equipment gets multiplied/copied and sent to several other players simultaneously. This would increase the chance that someone picks up the item and decrease the wait time until it happens. The first player to deposit the found item gets listed as the official "finder" of the item. Since the average player drops/loses relatively few items every hour, but gets the chance to potentially recover many dozens of other players dropped items in the same time, this seems likely. - Dropped items do not get multiplied, but they are sent from world to world until somebody picks them up, but a maximum of X minutes. Since the owner of the item can eventually move on to other regions, a time limit, after wich a lost item is lost forever, would make sense. How do you think this works? Do you have any good sources I could read through?

I was wandering the Bayou when I saw a red blip chasing me. Thinking it was a panther, I equipped my Springfield Rifle+Express bullets, and this thing still took 5 direct rounds to the head before it died. I have never seen a mottled alligator in this game before ONLINE.

In this old game I used to play back in the day (called Warhammer online Age of Reckoning) you could equip visible trophies on your character. Would anyone else like to see something similar in DRG?

We could, for example, have a hidden mission system (like kill a bulk detonator with your pickaxe etc.etc.) and reward dwarfs with ornaments to don on their armors or beards. Playing Elder Scrolls Online and this symbol showed up at the bottom of my screen a week or so ago. I have no idea what it means. All my equipment is repaired and I have no active effects on me. It doesn't seem to affect my game play either. Can anyone help?
Ability to equip/unequip suppressor mid-game (online)
It would be cool if we could equip/unequip suppressors mid-game (online) to adjust for different situations. I know that suppressors really just keep us off the mini-map (and compass?) but if it’s nerfed enough to made a difference when equipped there are some real benefits of being able to equip/unequip. Edit: Clarification I mean to screw/unscrew it while you’re alive.

I'm catching up with the series after playing Bloodborne, and while I'm having a blast, I'm also a bit frustrated with some trophies. I am one of the those people who have huge OCD if I don't 100% a game. Specially those which I enjoy. DS2 was a bit of a grind for sunlight medals, but man, this game really kicked the covenant item requirements to the max. I was getting really worried when I heard farming enemies was way way more frustrating and slow, so I gave online a shot with low hopes. It's been a few years after all. And lo and behold, it really isn't that bad. You can constantly and consistently invade, put your sunbro sign and get summoned, and even the blades/blue sentinels has taken me two days of playing to get about 20 out of 30 items (granted, I suck at PvP and if I really did win every encounter I would have more than double that). It's nice to play a game that has been out for a while that isn't completely dead. Really makes me wonder how fun everything was around release. I will definitely pick up Elden ring at launch if there is an online component. Anyways, thanks to those of you that are playing out of fun, or it's your 3rd or 5th playthrough. You really improve the experience for us late players. I will pay it forward by equipping way of blue and popping embers after finishing the grind for covenant items.

Online Game Bugs: Stash rewind + Equipment Deletion
So far my online experience today has been...glitchy. I've had two game crashes ->
One was during the final quest in Act 3, when you're trying to defend the power core thing on the roof right before the final boss. When I logged back in, my stash had reverted to its state from about 30 minutes ago. I had previously cleared my stash and sold everything in it, but everything was back in there.
Second crash was just in the middle of an expedition. When I logged back in, the chestplate my character was wearing was just gone, vanished.

Another associate from another store confirmed that streaming hardware will be coming first if not already in store, but actual internal components are scheduled when some stores get a new "face" it sounded like she said? I'm guessing the 1.5 tier stores will somehow reface themselves to indicate they are PC gaming oriented stores? Likely regional hubs I'd assume. They adopted a similar shipping and delivery model to Auto Zone and Advance Auto if I recall correctly. He cut the dividend, began consolidation (cut some fatty stores), and began debt reduction. COVID threw a wrench in this because he didn't move online nearly fast enough. When Burry first invested in GME, there was a reason. What reason? He spoke with Sherman about his plans and thought they wouldn't just survive, but thrive. Cohen also had a similar situation, and later of course he got involved. Sherman listens to both, and in their letters to him they basically tell him where he fucked up and how to move Gamestop forward. Fils-Aimé the Nintendo guy that likes to turn companies around is added to the board. He turns stuff around as a hobby and is an insanely good marketer. This is shown in particular with his Nintendo of America endeavors. u/kitrosreddit told me not to forget about Reggie so I didn't this time (sorry to the 100ish people that saw this a few days ago) Next up we see the Microsoft deal. Although exact numbers aren't available that I can find, Gamestop will be receiving a royalty from gaming equipment sold via Microsoft. Microsoft is also expanding Gamestop's inventory on the inside and employees will use Microsoft software to run the stores. Microsoft doesn't want Gamestop to fail, nor will they let them. With 27% of new games bought at Gamestop and 40% of used games bought there, Microsoft saw an excellent way to try and compete this console cycle. We recently saw Gamestop's holiday earnings. With a yearly revenue of roughly $7 bil, they were unprofitable this year. The current P/S ratio makes no sense unless it is expected to go out of business (good luck) or that it will not grow significantly over the coming years (lol). However, this is expected to change with earnings starting in March. They are expected to continue to be profitable moving forward as well. Gamestop still has roughly $500 mil in debt. How are they going to pay this off!!!??? Liquidating stores and consolidation. This was a Cohen continuation idea that Sherman had started, just without the vision to make it succeed. A small stock offering (let's say 2%) would also leave them in an excellent financial situation. Additionally, we have the 300% YOY online sales increase, which accounted for over 30% of total sales. This is only expected to increase moving forward. While overall sales decreased by 3% YOY, inefficient stores were cut out of the picture. Comparative store sales increased by 5% YOY, but this was even stagnated due to state restrictions on 'nonessential' businesses. Places that had significantly fewer COVID numbers had over 30% YOY growth. Next, we have the Chewy powerhouses joining the board of directors. Out with the old, in with the new. Even though most directors were acquired in 2020, these new additions add incredible value to the company. Sherman listens to Cohen. Cohen and friends had some focuses at Chewy that led to insane amounts of profit. They focused on cutting costs and maximizing efficiency. Expect the same for Gamestop. This was something that can be effectively implemented with all the new leadership. All ears are on Cohen and his ideas to make Gamestop a 1 stop gaming shop. Most recently were the adds on 2/3/21 Francis: That AWS engineering guy that's now heading technology!? Nice. Durkin: Customer service VP from Chewy is now in charge of Gamestop's customer service!?
