When I look at a specific texture in darkrp my textures glitch out.
So I just started to play gmod because my friend forced me to buy it, he made me download the map and all the addons that I need for that specific server we were joining. I join and then I walk around the map. Then I come across to the casino, I went inside the casino and all the textures and models start to look weird. Hello again, my name is Preeble, I posted here about one month ago (You could probably find it by scrolling down), I am very happy to say, even in just a single month of being open, we have grown a pretty decent community. Some of which found out about TulsaMac on reddit. This has been an amazing experience, slowly watching the community/serveplayerbase grow and instead of just ME hoping to have this community flourish it has turned into multiple people who are happy to hear the server is updated so often, and how progression is moving so fast. My goal when I first started, was to have one of the most unique DarkRp experiences gmod has ever seen. I am very proud to say that my community has reached the point that we are making that happen. We started out as a downtown map (I know like the other 99%). A lot of people pick that map because its popular, and I will say, just for having that map alone we where getting a lot of foot traffic, which was very helpful on picking up a few more players than I anticipated. Our very first weekend of being open, my server was slot capped at 32 players. It was awesome, but I wasn't very happy about it. I don't like Downtown; and I felt like staying with that map, as helpful as it was was defeating what I was setting out to do. Again, my goal was to make one of the most unique servers. I reached out a very well renown map creator, and he was able to create exactly what I wanted. One of the biggest Gmod RP maps. It consists of -An Ocean -A futuristic City -An Industrial Region -A Suburbs -A second "not so futuristic" city - A few more things id like to keep hidden for the ingame players I am going to copy what I posted a month ago, because its uniqueness has been upheld, and updated throughout the entirety of the servers lifespan. ---The Uniqueness of Tulsa--- -Life is precious, and in most Darkrp servers players don't see it as precious since there isn't much to lose. On TulsaMac Rp, Death will cost you 45 seconds of your time. and that will count as your NLR, along with the fact that the map is huge, and walking to where you died will probably take a good bit of time. Medics have defibulators, and if they revive you, it voids out your "NLR" Timer, and you can immediately return to your house. - Getting Arrested sucks. We can all agree on that, however I have not forgotten about you jailed players. On our Server you will have the option to make license plates while you server your sentence. Each plate you make will reduce your sentence by 15-30 seconds for each plate you turn in. If you decide not to work, there is a workable basketball court where jailed players will be able to shoot some ball while they wait there time. - Are there only a few players online and there arnt enough players to sell items that you need? Freemans Marketplace has many opportunities even when the server player count is low. There is also an entire Pawn Shop that will sell basic weapons, items, food and more; at a higher price than what actual players would sell for. - On our servers There is a bone system, instead of Police gunning down a Suspect, he will be able to shoot him in the leg to break his leg and cripple his speed or if he has a weapon drawn he can shoot his hand to disarm him; and vise verse. The suspect will be able to shoot police and have same effects to escape. Along with this, our server has a futuristic atmosphere to it. You are able to Augment your body to become a "Cyborg" per say. You can outfit your eye to see thermal vision (See through Walls), have Nanite skin (Replenishes Health over time) and about 20 more different Augmentations. - Gun dealers don't magically spawn weapons out of thin air. Gun Dealers buy a gunsmith bench and actually craft the weapon with materials. Materials can be purchased from an NPC at Freemans Market. The reason for this is to have the gun dealer have to actually leave his base. Players can do with this as they will. Also this is a skillset in which you earn XP for crafting weapons. For example a Colt 1911 is a level 1 weapon, which takes 15 material to make. Where as a AWP Sniper is a level 11 weapon and takes 60 material to make. The reason being for this is so 1. Players who actually do the job regularly are rewarded through a progression system (Which transfers between going online/offline) and will be able to make more top tier weapons. 2. They will be able to determine the prices a lot more since less people will be able to create the more top tier weapons. - PETS! There are pets you can buy, and as they age, they get more health, more attack and bigger in size. If a player is to attack you your pet will jump into action and try to defend you. You can order your pet to stay wherever he is. and you can sell him for a different pet at anytime. - Each job has a purpose, it isn't just a lot of classes with different skins and names. - LSD Manufacturer -Meth Manufacturer - Farmer - Gunsmith - Businessman ( Hires NPCs to work for him) - Lumberjack - Animal Raiser - Radio Host - Theatre Manager - Newspaper Writer - Bee Keeper ( If nobody is this job bee hives will spawn on map and do damage to l players) - With many more jobs with their own unique purpose. - A full working Casino open 24/7 Nobody will have to be paying for "VIP" or other things that will give them an advantage over the players who simply want to play without donating. There is a leveling system in place. Where once you hit a certain level, you will be able to access "VIP" jobs. Do not worry, it is not some unobtainable level, there are quite a few players already who havnt paid, who have reached the levels and can acces "VIP" jobs. It is obtainable, but only for those who truly like to play on the server a good amount. This server is still a work in progress, and I don't want to say it will ever be fully complete. DarkRp changes constantly, and for TulsaMac to become one of the greats, we will always have to stay fresh with our addons. Most players usually tell us we are hands down one of the most unique servers they have come across since playing Gmod. I will continue to hold TulsaMac to that standard. FastDl is hooked up via Webhost, so joining shouldn't take to long. Hi, I'm making a new DarkRP server, and I need YOUR help!
Hey everyone, So, me and my buddies have been semi-working on a DarkRP server for a few years now. We've had tons of experience with servers in the past, and want to make something genuinely fun for as many people as possible. That said, I want your opinions on what makes a server great, and add-ons you're particular to, any rules that you are against, let me know! Here are some things that we have planned: 1) First and foremost, NO PAY TO WIN.. I absolutely HATE pay to win. I've ran MC servers for nearly 4 years, and have never had P2W. Sure, we'll take donations, or maybe we won't. This isn't some cash cow side project for us, it's a community we want. We will never sell in game money. Now, some ideas are having 2 types of credit systems. Credits that everyone can earn, how is still being decided.. And VIP credits that you can buy, these credits can be traded. You would be able to buy guns that you spawn with or minimal mod access. These are being heavily discussed, the most important thing is that it's not going to pay to win.. 2) Staff are going to be in the background. This means you won't have admins flying around the map ruining the RP experience. Issues are not going to be dealt with on top of roofs for everyone to see, and admins are not going to have any sort of powers over the regular player when RPing (No unlimited money, no no-clipping, extra health, etc) 3) No stupid jobs/custom donator jobs. Now, don't get me wrong. We have at least 1 donator job planned - The casino manager. The casino manager is going to be able to take bets and have people gamble. (We're going to be using a roll dice system, so people can do games like 55x2) The reason this is donator only is because people can easily scam with the job. But, I'm personally tired of seeing people paying $50 to make some class that can fly across the map and never die. 4) Speaking of custom jobs.. I want all of the jobs we make to be made as a team. We have a bunch of jobs already made, but we're always looking for more. We want the server to be semi-serious, this means that we don't want jobs like "pony" or "baby". We don't mind letting peoples imagination go wild when suggesting things, but we want to limit crazy jobs. 5) No 1000 rules. We believe people should be able to roleplay the way they want to, not how they were told to. While we will have rules, they're not going to restrict every part of your gameplay. If enough attention is drawn this, I'll make a website for the server. In the end, we want to make this gmod server tons of fun and let people play the way they want to play (within reason). CREATING CASINO & CINEMA SERVER (MAPPERS & CODERS WANTED)
So here's the deal. I have a very strong idea of what it is I want to create, but I lack the skills of creating it. So I'm looking for talented people who are willing to create this project together with me. I am paying for the server and everything. Your reward? You'll have an awesome server to hang out on! :D The idea is to have Poker, Blackjack, Roulette, Slots, Arcade, Cinema and a few things more, all tucked into a cosy environment that is built for socialising, meeting friends and having fun. There's a finished blueprint for the map and these are the casino models that are going to be used. This has been ticking me off for awhile and I just want to let it out, a gamemode. A gamemode that is all about a Casino, you see darkrp has "Slots, Poker, Bars, BlackJack, and more. Someone or a group should make a new garry's mod gamemode that will be a garuntee popular gamemode shared. Have shops, kinda like GMOD tower but without the gamemodes but with apartment stuff if you have too or whatever. Just a hotel with a casino or something where everyone can meet up and have fun ofcourse with a money system so that when you lose all your money you either reset your character or buy some more with real money (Make it rare for someone to lose money like a $25,000 start and atleast 25 starter chips or something). Also a cool idea added is a shop where you can get clothing and please no trails for god sake trails are annoying. Maybe have managers and security incase a "Cheater" is there which could be a hidden job for V.I.P's where they make extra money and get an advantage. Pool is a fun addition also Slots, people really hate Slots but it is still casino worthy and no one can have fun with friends without Pool. Anyways, if anyone has the time or balls to make this gamemode, you are the best and I don't have to search DarkRP servers with casinos and finding out they only have slots. A lil bit of music could be nice too, no dubstep stuff but a map addition that could be ambient to the background that would be in a casino where a DJ can kinda change it. If there needs to be one, add a theater to it, people would always love to play videos in their own apartment or even in the public theater, please make it so people press E to watch than hearing it all over. Shrek is rape is terrible, look it up on youtube. This gamemode could use more developers or more addon makers, speaking of that, more workshop addons could be used, I would love to see stacks of money, actual wallets or inventory, maybe even more casino machines or additions for cardgames. As I tend to do, another addition. Chess, Checkers, Arcade Games! Make a little or medium sized game room for people to take theirselves against their friends in Chess or Checkers, maybe have some fun in the arcade game Donkey Kong or Mario Kart or some other miniclip game arcade games with the arcade machines or something.| FOOD, have hunger and thirst, not to be harsh but this is what makes stuff more fun. Actually eating food and buying the food from an NPC with custom animations. Also drinks, there always needs to be a bar in a casino, and always some Cigars for an outside smokes. This is an extreme idea but it could take less than a month to make an amazing gamemode with a map. Maybe more than a month but time is always a thing and it really does suck. Always hire dev's or get some help from dev's. I mean I would make this gamemode but I am honostly just a kid who has no idea how to even make a map on gmod. I seriously want to know though, someone tell me what the hell is the program people use to make maps? I would like to make one. Anyways, this is just a request and please admins if you do go on here PIN this thing to the top and post this on reddit or something so that other gamemode makers or developers can see this because this is a BIG idea that I know many people want, blackjack is fun and now you all need to take "Casino's" in garry's mod to the next level!
